Weekly Update: January 5th, 2022

Happy New Year everyone! 2021 was...interesting to say the least! As far as the channel goes, it was a year of ups and downs. I had projects that I had hope to upload in 2021 but didn't get around to. Caleb and Sophia, Panty and Stocking, and then plenty of "What RUINED/What's RUINING" videos

So why the delays? Well, life happens. 2021 threw a ton of family and life challenges my way. My father almost died to Covid and that alone sidetracked my psyche for a month. I don't like to upload videos if I feel that they aren't hitting a level of quality and satisfaction that I aim for. I'd rather postpone a project than upload it on time

That all being said, I do feel reinvigorated for 2022. I want to enter an era of the channel where we can all enjoy video essays with compelling topics and also silly reviews of bizarre and strange subjects. A good fusion of both kinds of content, ya know? More importantly, I just need to follow through on these goals. Hell, I want to overhaul the Patreon page and the Discord server as well and give you all more time since you support me out of the kindness of your hearts

In summary, I want to be better with my scheduling and my content. I want to be better for you all as well and I hope that I can get a grip on life to allow me the chance to make good on my goals. My old dog Lamby is probably the biggest logistical challenge since he's so needy with assistance. Poor guy is blind and is typically anxious but his new medicine is helping to calm him down so that provides me more time to actually do work. Love the old guy so very much but he eats up like one third of my day with how much help he needs. Sorry, venting

But ya! 2021 was weird and I'm proud of the content uploaded but I know we can do better in 2022 and I intend to see to that. Thank you all again for joining me and supporting me on this journey. I couldn't do it without y'all. Here's to a great 2022! As always, hit me up if you have any questions at all!

Happy New Year, Saberspark. I hope 2022 is good to you and yours.

Welcome back, Saber! I have missed these weekly updates! Anyway, I want to begin by saying that I understand completely why 2021 was not the kind of year you wanted it to be. Between your father's Covid battle, other life issues, and Lord knows what else, it's certainly been a rough ride, though I commend you for handling it all as best you could. I also understand that a number of the video delays of the past year can be chalked up to those life issues...you clearly needed time for yourself, with the video projects being secondary, and that's perfectly fine in my book. We all need to take the time we need when life throws us some curveballs...I've been there myself. One can only hope that these life-related issues won't pop up as much in 2022. And while the delays meant that some of the video projects you wanted to complete last year had to be pushed back, on the plus side, when they do see the light of day, they will most certainly be of higher quality than they were if you had rushed them out prematurely. I know that some people might get sick of the constant delays-I reckon that the Caleb and Sophia delays have become a running gag on your channel at this point-but I for one encourage you to take your time with it, and all of your other video projects. These videos will come when-and ONLY when-you feel they are the best they can be. I understand this completely...I can only hope others can also see it that way. I do look forward to seeing what video projects that you can come up with in 2022, whether they've been on the backburner for quite some time or projects that you don't even know about yet. I reckon we'll get to see another healthy mix of reviews, video essays, Quick Vids, and more besides. That all being said, I also encourage you to take some time to take care of yourself. As I recall, another reason why 2021 went the way it did for you was burnout. I've probably said this before, but I would never want either you or any member of your team to suffer from burnout to the point where making videos becomes a chore and is thus no longer enjoyable for you. As such, I hope that you can find a way to balance your time on YouTube/Discord/Twitch/etc. with life-related stuff so that you can keep any burnout at bay as best you can. Also, keep taking good care of Lamby...I am certain he needs all the love and support he can get! I do know that soon, we'll start seeing your new videos for 2022, and it looks like your annual Animation 20XX: What to Expect video will be one of the first new videos for the year. It looks like 2022, in terms of animation, will have everything from projects that look super promising (Turning Red, Across the Spider-Verse, Wendell and Wild), those that will probably be meh at best (Minions The Rise of Gru, Hotel Transylvania Transformania), and at least one that we're already nervous about (The Mario Movie...I swear to Monkey Moses that if Illumination screws it up, there is no hope for humanity!). I always enjoy hearing your preliminary thoughts on the animated movies and cartoons slated for the coming year, and this will surely be no exception. When the video drops, I shall endeavor to see it ASAP in typical me fashion! One more thing...even with all the ups and downs that you have endured, I am still here to support you any way I can. I still plan to check out every video posted on the main channel and on the Saber 64 channel. I will still catch your Twitch streams whenever I can. I am still supporting you here on Patreon as well as on Discord. And, of course, I am not going to drop my support for you anytime soon. Since you and your content have been the bright spot of an otherwise crappy 2020 and 2021 for me, I shall continue to support you any way I can, for as long as I can. It's been going on about 20 months since my support for you began in earnest, and I hope it continues for a long time to come. I have your back, Saber...that's a promise! Please take good care of yourself, Saber...I'll see you for the Animation 2022: What to Expect video soon! =)
