Who would've imagined that we would be getting a Smash Bros.-inspired fighting game featuring characters from numerous classic and contemporary Nicktoons? Then again, it seems like everyone is coming out with their own such games...anything to try to cash in on Smash's popularity (especially since Smash Ultimate recently wrapped up its updates with the arrival of Sora. From the look of things, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl seems to be a rather competent Smash clone...having the characters stay true to how they were in their respective cartoons and offering a fairly small, but legendary variety of characters to choose from. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Invader Zim take down Ren and Stimpy, or Sandy kicking April O'Neil's butt, or Cat-Dog versus Powdered Toast Man? It makes me wonder why the people behind the game didn't come up with the idea of it sooner. This is all-out zaniness at its finest, and I am here for it!
It is cool that you enjoyed your time with the game, as was evident by the livestream you did where you and Paleo played it. Indeed, smashing it up as your favorite Nicktoons is surely a dream come true for animation afficionados. It's only unfortunate that the game comes with a few caveats: only having a handful of modes at launch, no character voices or music from the original shows, and being a bit too pricey for what it offers. Hopefully, if the game does well enough, we will see more characters, modes, actual voice acting (even older voice clips might suffice), and whatever else the developers feel might make the game even better (hopefully no microtransactions or lootboxes, though) as free or paid (preferably free) updates or DLC. Perhaps I might pick up the game myself at some point for the Switch, though maybe not until it goes on sale (and with Black Friday coming up fast, we may very well see this game go on Black Friday sales and holiday sales in general). In the meantime, I rather enjoyed what this first What the HELL is...video for your gaming channel brough to the table, and I look forward to seeing more of them as and when you're able to make them.
See you for your Halloween reviews soon, Saber! =)
