I must admit that I had never heard of The Dancing Pumpkin-nor did I knew that it was actually a remake of a movie made seventeen years earlier-until you asked on Twitter if we wanted to see you tackle it. From the looks of it, this seems to rank right up there with The Lion King 2019 as the most unnecessary remake ever. From nightmarish uncanny valley designs to a terrible story, this movie just screams that the people behind this movie wanted it to be a Halloween classic...needless to say, it (and presumably, the original version) missed the mark. I reckon that The Dancing Pumpkin is to Halloween what The Nuttiest Nutcracker was to Christmas: they were both movies that doubled as bizarre fever dreams made to cash in on two of the most beloved and popular holidays, but which fell far short of their goal.
It's no wonder why The Dancing Pumpkin seems to have been tailor-made to be covered on your channel...heck, I daresay that the video thumbnail alone sets the tone for what turns out to be a strange and bizarre journey into the madness that is this movie. I always get a kick out of your reactions to everything from confusing and/or stupid plot points, to uncanny character designs, to moments that make one go "What the HELL?!" or words to that effect, and once again, you manage to succeed in enduring this movie-and everything that's wrong with it-and making the journey entertaining throughout. How you manage to deal with so many bad movies, I do not know, but you are quite a hero for doing so, and for that, I wholeheartedly salute you!
It may have taken a bit of extra time for you to be able to share this video (I understand that life stuff can get in the way, and I'll always encourage you to take care of it, and yourself, as much as possible whenever it arises), but I daresay that the wait was well worth it. Your month of spoopy stuff is off to a solid start and I look forward to seeing more of your Halloween-related reviews soon (of the upcoming reviews you have planned for us in the coming weeks, 9 will surely send chills down my spine, while Scary Godmother should make for some more lighthearted spooky fun...your tweets on the latter imply that you've been enjoying it, though I'm sure we'll soon find out just how enjoyable it truly is). Thanks for dealing with The Dancing Pumpkin for us, Saber, and until next time, take care! =)
