That's the best part of having a whole group chat with a bunch of your friends - you can ask them to say their opinion on frivolous things with no context, and get their honest opinion before disclosing who was of which opinion.

Imma gonna go cut sum butter with scissors now.

Xacarith

If it works it isn't wrong. It just might not be the best way. Cold butter I usually scrap the top. Warm butter or a larger amount I may cut the other way

Xacarith

And it works great to make rough puff pastry! Sprinkle a little flour on the grated butter, re freeze, then mix into the dough and works great!

I'm more curious about the WRONG way, personality... But yeah, I'm curious now...

Bryan Wyatt

wait how do you cut butter then?

Koda

Nooooo 😭 You neverever slice butter 😨 Only barbarians slice butter 😠 Scraping is the absolute onliest waaayyyyy 😧 (Just kidding, in case it wasn't clear 😉)

Eldkatten

I recently learned you can use a cheese grater on (cold) butter! (Biscuits and soda bread!) So much easier than chopping it to little pieces. Do put the grater in the freezer for a bit first.

allanfranta

So, how *do* you cut butter?

Julian Kai

Use scissors or GTFO 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (that is a joke, in case the multiple ROFL emojis didn't convey that.... only a monster would cut butter with scissors... I hope that's not the way you cut butter)

Wolfger

Depends on the packaging. If it's a block of butter, slice it. If it's a pot of butter, scrape it.

Jonathan

Are we talking warm butter or cold butter? We need DETAILS. :P

Chef Foxxo

Butter is not to be cut, but scraped in very thin layers from the top of the butter block by lightly sweeping the butter-scraping-device over the surface. Only valid variants is whether you do that lengthwise or crosswise. Avantgarde does this diagonally 😉

Eldkatten

So the right way is?
