Hey guys!
I wish I could say I had a relaxing three days off but I pretty much just worked on the game during them, although I did take some hours here and there to enjoy life :P Mostly though, I've been working on the game. The House Spouse says I'm obsessed or a "workaholic"! Psh! Do you believe such nonsense? Oh, I haven't gotten my grades back either but I'm fairly confident that I completely aced all five of my classes!!! First time ever and during my most difficult semester. Woo! Also, we're getting a bit stir crazy here too because we've been snowed in for days now, which is unheard of in the valley for the past 30 years. Ugh!
Anyway, onto the progress report! I'm sure you guys have better things to do than listen to me rant :P
New Room(s) + Expansion (SPOILERS IN PARAGRAPH 2, 3, & 4):
There are two new rooms to look forward to: "The Edge" and "The Winding Wood" the latter of which is part of the game's next chapter. It's called "Chapter 2: Into the Wild" which represents what you'll be doing for a majority of that chapter. Exciting, huh? I told you once we got out things would be steadily moving along. It'll get even faster too once I don't have to remaster things anymore because I can spend all of my time expanding the world.
2) So I'm partially done with The Edge which has a lot of variables. I've done the main description and the first time entry descriptions as well, which slightly changes based on whether or not you've defeated the horde in the Rolling Hills Redux. This same treatment was given to "Sudden Death 2" (meaning the description changes based on whether or not you successfully defeated the horde in any difficulty). Back to the Edge though. Basically, as I mentioned, the Edge has a lot of variables and multiple ways to exit. The easiest way to exit is well...to "Stand Your Ground" which leads to the old zombie bad-end which has been adjusted to fit this new scenario. This will happen whether or not you've defeated the horde in the Rolling Hills Redux room (because the second half of the horde appears)!
3) The other two exits out of the room deal with a couple of different variables: intelligence, strength and agility. The most obvious exit is leaping off this rock face to escape the horde which ends Chapter 1, the other exit is hidden and must be "searched" for via the 'search/pillage' feature in each room. If you have a high intelligence 7 or greater, you'll discover the exit no problem, if your intelligence is 6 or lower, you have a 50% chance to find it, otherwise jumping is your only option (unless you want the gameover). So anyway, the "hidden path exit" is still not a surefire way of escaping --- you have to pass a strength check. If you fail, you'll have an agility check and if you fail that one too than....well...I have to explain the jumping exit first, then come back to this otherwise you might not understand it.
4) The jumping exit is the most obvious exit and likely the one half the players will take until they discover that they can "search" for the path exit. When or if you jump, obviously it's going to cause a lot of damage to your character; I'm thinking 15 damage is reasonable, which means if you didn't heal to fully after the fighting, you'll likely lose some vitality/max health in the fall. You'll also have a 75% chance to break any glass, or breakable items in the fall. The path exit can now be explained. If you pass the strength check, you'll be okay and won't lose any health. If you don't pass the strength check, then you'll fall, but depending on your agility is how hard/sloppy you land. If you fail the agility check then you'll lose half the health you would lose if you had jumped so about 7 health. You'll also have a 35% chance to break any glass or breakable items. If you pass the agility check, or you're an "elf" or a "dark elf" you'll land swiftly and will only lose half of the agility check health that you would have if you'd fallen, so around 3 health. Very complicated! But it'll be fun because it'll have a lot of different outcomes.
I'm about a quarter way done with all of that. It should take me another day or two depending on inspiration.
Bug Fixes:
Not many bugs were reported this time! Maybe that means we're really close to being bug free! The few bugs that were reported were minor at best, one was the Cow-Taur female error, and the other was the "player.damage" error. As you know I removed the "player.damage" increases from the game completely, although, I missed one or two of the scripts. The ones that were left over, instead of giving player.damage they instead increase the player's maximum health (remember you need the Spellbook" to activate the health increases and need to be carrying the items that increase them).
Equipment Viewer Information:
I've been working with revamping the equipment viewer grid --- I'll be inking it next and adding the names to the slots so that they are more permanent. After that, I'll be revamping the male and female character drawings --- likely with faces, although I'm not sure yet. Prolly not, but maybe.
Health Regeneration:
Nothing huge, I'm creating a script that every 100 turns or so, you'll receive +1, +3, +4 or +5 health back to any that you've lost :)
Entice:
The first rendition (making it a "global command") didn't work, so I've been working on creating it as a verb that's on each individual enemy. With this you'll be able to "entice enemies into sex scenes" (depending on your dominant mood). The idea is, you click "entice" on the enemy (which doesn't take a turn), and then a menu pops up (depending on your gender) and you can use various body parts to essentially tease or manipulate them which causes damage or "death" to the enemy. This isn't an easy way out of battles either even though you can spam "entice" without the enemy attacking you because depending on the enemy and what you do, it could make your character pregnant or even hurt. So sometimes it will work out for you and sometimes it won't. If you're horny or your lust is at 10, then you won't even get to choose what you do, the entice scripts will be randomized. Should be fun though!
That's it for the time being!
Coming Up:
Trying to finish "The Edge" room, doing more Cow-Taur TF, finishing the Health Regen script, and then I'll be moving on to remastering more Hannah and starting more Item remasters: specifically, the Shortification Elixirs and the Tallification Elixirs.
See you guys in a few days!
