Recently we started this jogging app thing, and while my partner keeps talking about it like he doesn't think we'll ever actually finish it, and we'll give up on it eventually, I don't let him. The jogging is enjoyable, we have a nice route to use, and always feel better after going through with it, so even if he'd try to slide off the routine we've set, I know I wouldn't let him, I need that jog.
The thing is, I couldn't do it alone, either. I've tried to pick up exercising more so many times and always given up from a lack of motivation. Dragging myself to do something that I don't feel like doing every three days is impossible. But somehow, dragging him to do it with me is a piece of cake.
I have no idea why this makes sense and why it works, but it does.
