Ticket rules

Someone told me that apparently the reason for this kind of rules is that people wouldn't try to use museums as a free day care, but picturing a gang of four-year-olds marching in with no intention to pay is much funnier.
My husband went to a private hippy-ish secondary school where they had days like Arbor Day off instead of common days like Memorial Day. Living in New York City, he and his friends decided to go to one of the museums on such a day. When they tried to buy tickets the employee was going to deny them because there was no way they had the day off. His friend "admitted" they were skipping and came to the museum for a more educational day than public school. They were allowed in. 🙄
