Journey 5

loved the chapter. almost sad we didnt get the payoff that i think we all know is coming. but that would have been its own kind of torture to leave off on. hope we get to see the next chapter soon.

It would probably only affect the newbies around here, but in the Collection page, still says Status: On Hold. As I'm usually reluctant to start stories which are paused, it's something that I check pretty much every place I go nowadays.

Overall I really enjoyed the new chapter. It did however remind me and reinforce why I generally despised DC comics from a young age. The morality and "justice" is bullshit. Not even getting into the "power scaling" that varies from, "I that sort of makes sense" to "That's fucking radioactive garbage".

Yo, I took your thoughts into account: changed the bit about Ranma not knowing about Superman and Kara's connection, though she still didn't share his alter ego. Wouldn't take much to make hte connection obviously, but still. The boobs thing - I will go back and change that as Hiryo and I get time to re-edit past chapters. Since I just finished and resent him chapter two... let's just say that's going to take a bit. For Starfire specifically, I went back, mentioned her height and her chest sizes specifically. to wit: 'The girl’s top was more like bits and pieces of clothing now, showing that it had indeed been the alien equivalent of a sports bra, leaving the majority of her breasts exposed. They were quite big, those breasts. Now, some of that was due to the girl’s size. Despite something in her face and body language telling Ranma they were of an age, she was taller than his male body by at least an inch and her breasts were certainly… proportional, being bigger than Kara or Ranma’s and maybe even with what Ranma could remember of Diana. What was equally obvious, excluding one surprisingly dark, purple nipple, was that the destruction of her shirt had removed a great deal of the woman’s support, as her breasts bounced wildly as the orange-skinned woman got her feet under her and came charging back towards Ranma.' Going forward, she'll be the only girl who doesn't increase in chest size, though she will gain a few more inches in height, and will gain more muscle definition. As for her sensibilities: 'Blinking, the woman looked between the shirt in her hands and across at her opponent, whose emotions had shifted, no longer wanting to fight her, but being embarrassed for her. For a second, that was strange to the Tamaranean princess. Body modesty was very much not a thing among her people, and as a slave, she had no say in what she wore, so she had developed even less taboo about it. However, as she stood there, Koriand’r felt the lust and desire from the crowd. That wasn’t nearly as acceptable to her as the admiration she had felt from a few of the watchers before this, and reminded her too much of the oily, anticipatory feeling she got whenever Mogul or any of his people came by her gilded cage on Warworld. These men were looking at her in the same manner. They didn’t see Koriand’r but rather simply a random female, one they wished to see conquered rather than having any softer feelings for her. And while Koriand’r was not shamed of her form, she firmly felt it should still be her decision to show her body, rather than the vagaries of a fight, and the fact that she was wearing substandard clothing. With that in mind, Koriand’r quickly pulled the shirt up and over her head, blinking a little bit as she realized it had to be for a woman given how well it fit. Wondering idly where her opponent had come up with it, she looked over at him. ' So given the choice, Starfire would indeed put her body on display to a certain degree but wouldn't really enjoy the feelings of lust and being treated like a thing rather than a person. Given the choice of dealing with those thoughts and covering up, she'll choose to cover up.

Good chapter. I enjoyed the mention of changing the shazam outfit, but there were a few mentions earlier in the chapter of the spandex form, is this just refering to the default outfit? Curious to see if it will be the silk outfit or a mix of the 2 when it next appears

Can Ranma know a girl and not end fighting her?. It seems kind of a tradition for him. Now that I think it, He fighted Kara after knowing her, there's that. I pity Green Arrow, the poor lad doesn't know what had come to his city, yet. It's going to be funny the reunion between all of them, once the crisis is solved. I found a few typos, do I post them here or send you the doc with the corrections and annotations?. I don't see a way to send a PM here.

A good addition! I did notice a bit of a continuity error (also a typo, since I'm pretty sure it's supposed to say 'hadn't' from the context) between this and the previous Journey release, though: "Since Ranma had and actually made the connection between Superman and Kara yet, Kara hadn’t seen fit to actually tell him. " Kara DID tell him about this last time, when the whole underwear on the outside thing came up: "“Mr. Outside Underwear? That’s my cousin. And the symbol on his chest isn’t actually an S, it’s the symbol of our house, a reminder of our past. But I really don’t want it to be my label like it became his.”" Ranma even made commentary that she might want to avoid the S if she doesn't want to end up as Supergirl, making it clear he'd made the connection completely. ----------- Aside from that, I read both this and Journey 4 together and noticed a bit of...description weirdness? Specifically, that you seem to have gone, in previous fics, from having a decent grasp of breast sizes, to understating them in an odd way in this fic. This feels like a very weird topic to bring up, particularly as the only reason I know all of the data following this is due to trying to wrap my head around it for my own writing. But it was bugging me with the number of mentions that are just kinda off, so... The AVERAGE female breast size in the United States is a D-cup. (Actually, as of 2024 it's a DD cup, but cutting that down to just 'healthy' women instead of everyone probably lowers it back to D). Yes, I'm aware Kara is only 16, but that's actually near the very end of the growth cycle for at least human woman (Boys continue to grow until 18, the majority of girls are pretty much done at 16. 17 would mark them as an outlier, 18 an extreme outlier. Earlier onset of puberty for girls means an earlier finish to growth as well.). More to the point, multiple references were made to her being 'top heavy,' even by a female employee/other shopper when she went to get new sport's bras. This does not match the C-cup you've given her, as that should actually put her on the smaller side for Supergirl's known frame. While she isn't super-tall like Power Girl, she's typically depicted as 5'5", which puts her almost dead on that same 'average' for American women (5'4.5" is the average). So you've stated she's actually below the average breast size, which doesn't match other contextual statements within the story. Nor with most official art of her either, honestly. This seems to carry across to other characters as well. While the average in Japan is super low at an A-cup, Ranma in female form is visibly above average. B-cup is more believable than Kara being a C, but is still somewhat on the conservative side from depictions we see in the original Ranma 1/2 manga. They seem to have toned it down in the recent reboot (which I refuse to watch, but looked up for comparison), but the original version had her as pretty stacked for comedic value. Though it's admittedly also inconsistent enough that I'd buy the B-cup sizing, given her relative height, as possibly being accurate, though it feels like a bit of a stretch. This is going to feel even weirder if you continue on with similar under sizing for Starfire, since Starfire is freakin' TALL. She's consistently depicted as being 6'4" in all comic media (she's actually an inch taller than superman). The only depiction of her that is not that height is the teen titans cartoon, which undersized her dramatically in order to cut down on the extreme fanservice inherent to her comic design. Meaning to get the boobs we see on her frame, she's likely at least an E-cup...minimum. ---------------- Getting away from the extremely weird observations about boobs. Which ironically stemmed entirely from my own attempts to accurately write descriptions of them rather than the fact I do, in fact, thoroughly enjoy looking at them, a few things you mentioned/depicted about Starfire also threw me for a loop. The biggest, that made my brain record scratch a bit, was the body modesty thing. In DC canon, that's NOT a result of her time as a slave, but a species cultural thing. Tamaraneans are pretty much hedonists by nature. Prior to being invaded, Tamaran was basically a tropical utopia, with Starfire's near-total lack of nudity taboo being a norm rather an an exception. Heck, some versions of her were also considered STRANGE on Tamaran for being willing to be monogamous, too. Throughout the various comic runs, it's made pretty blunt that she has trouble understanding why humans are so prudish, never really thinking twice about nudity unless it makes someone else uncomfortable. This extends to sex and orientation too, as in her indecent comic run, she was cheerfully ready to jump into a foursome with Atlee, a female detective friend, and a random subterran, when they visited subterra. That idea only getting shot down by the human detective :-p, Atlee seemed onboard too. The second thing, that made my eye-twitch as it's a personal pet peeve, was the 'surprisingly pale, large white nipple' line. You might not have intended it, but that comes off as the people that try to make her just a super tanned white girl. I blame some of the live action adaptations for this nonsense. Tamaraneans are ORANGE. That's their 100% natural skin color. They also Do Not Suntan, since they absorb the UV rays that would cause that as their primary power source. They love lying in the sun, but that's because they are both Feline and it feels Extra Amazing for them since it powers their abilities. It isn't to tan. A light-starved Tamaranean on the brink of death would still be orange. Blackfire is the only exception, specifically because a childhood disease screwed with her abilities and skin tone. Which was so off-putting to her people that she ended up being passed over for being heir in part due to how she looked seriously wrong to them. So unless Starfire suddenly developed Togrutan markings from Star Wars, that description viscerally bothers me.

Great chapter im so excited to see ranma style antics in DC especially with the book closing on ATP. Let's hope kori and Kara hit it off or else ranma might find himself in the middle of an alien cat fight :P Here's some typos/sentace structure things I noticed from the chapter: the kids and my cousin have all been very upfront *kents not kids we should be able to get to the border with California in a ay. *day not ay this time a young bow with nasty head trauma, *Boy not bow “Kevlar body wall armor doesn’t seem to be worth it to me.” Not sure what wall is supposed to be here maybe an extra word? Make it easier for when the coops eventually show up. *Cops not coops I respect that but I follow your own Codes. Either you ment you instead of I or my instead of your not sure in this case. harder and harder to ignore as their time goterh went on. *together not goterh a need coming up almost faster than Ranma could follow. *knee not need piece of clothing that came with her towards her, blinking, Extra 'with her'? even as both of them were pushed off of the roof by car is in charge. *Kara's charge not car is in charge My cousin and wonder Woman’re  both get going to get it for that, *are not 're, This might be intentional (IE accent) in which case ignore me Anyway thanks for the chapter, and I know what Im voting for in the next poll

This was great. Good place for Ranma to go Shazam is definitely during an invasion.

No, no laws, but then, laws aren't always the way to go with that kind of thing. ther's also social conventions and peer pressure. Batman, Manhunter, Supes and Wonder Woman don't kill, ergo, no one else does.

Such a great start to a great story! This might be my favorite of any of your story’s parings. They are all going to mesh so well! So excited for the incoming fight! I don’t see how Shazam won’t make an appearance, the incoming fight looks to dangerous. Easily my current favorite story of yours.

Loved the chapter and loving the story. I hope/think kara and shazame ranma could maybe beat or hold mogul off till reinforcements can get there. One question if you don't mind, in your AU has real laws been established on excessive force and lethal response from capes or is it just DC hero culture causing the problem, because depending on the state using debilitating or even lethal force on someone actively murdering people shouldn't cause to may problems. (Yes fleeing the seen and not talking to the cops would cause problems or be criminal but the force its self should be fine) Just wondering about your world doesn't take away from the story ether way, have a good day.
