And before I knew it was was feeding nothing but more and more hardcore conservative content. Glad you had a different experience. Ironically it was Chris, Derrick, and Contrapoints that pulled me outta the rightwing echochamber entirely.

He wasn’t a gateway for me because of that, I just ended up checking out more liberal leaning content around that time in part because people like Chris had interesting takes I hadn’t heard before. On some level you could call anyone with real opinions a “gateway” because everyone’s opinions are going to crossover here and there with some grifter online who is not genuine and wants to twist that real feeling into an obsession and pull you down a slippery slope.

I broke out at age 32. It's not exclusive to kids at all lol. All my old dude friends who are in their 30s are all still trapped in the alt right pipeline.

I think most people don’t think about that kinda thing unless they are in the community or have close family or friends who are. And even with that last one if that’s a conversation that’s been had around them. Will say I was a kid when I fell down the pipeline and kids usually don’t have that level of awareness when getting into things. I would argue there are way worse things he’s said that are more worth pointing out with this but also kids really shouldn’t even be listening to this at this point most the people who were kids watching his videos grew up and have stuck around (me included) kids listening to this are very minimal. At the same time I’m sure there are some stupid mfs that still listen to podcast and hear that and think “YEAH SHIT ON THE GAYS” idk lol maybe I’m stupid just not seeing it as that deep. At least in this instance
