State of play

Heya all - I wanted to give a little state of play, so to say. Just some keynotes of what's being worked on, and what I imagine of the future of releases will entail.

Main questline

“The story so far, the player has managed to retrieve what they had stolen at the very beginning of the game, but what now?

Well, the thieves did have an envelope in their knit knacks. A letter with… the city's seal on it?”

The continuation of the story will be the good intentions of the player, dragging them into a world of Highborn tomfoolery. It'll also open the currently-looked area of the Wetlock castle, and introduce a new set of characters to interact with.

Features i still want add

When talking about new features, I'm not thinking of areas, characters, quest or things you already see aspects of in the game. I still want to add more of all that but I'm talking new systems of big scope, and the last one I really wanna add is:

Housing

Yes, a hero needs a home. To hang their armor and admire their trophies. To frolic with friends or boss the servants. A place to pick a partner and grow old with.

I want it to be a project for the player, a questline about coming own land and building upon it, making it mean more than simply a purchase. And from there, when the stones are set and the mortel hardened, I feel there's so many possibilities to work upon.

This is likely a sizable amount of work, from what I'm imagining, but one I'm excited about.

Current loose ends

These are shortcomings due to me not having a clear vision of the game from the get go, and switching things up some time back. But also a possibility because my art has improved with time, thankfully.

I plan to fix these in segments, a few of these fixed each patch

Items missing sprites:

There’s still Items there's without sprites, which is jarring. These items are mainly from back before the game had combat displaying the player, so it's legacy I'm handling. I hope the Item sprites so far helps your hero characters look snazzy~

Interface looking old

When things got rolling for the game, I was just adding features, without really settling on a unified style. As such, most screens are somewhat mismatched. I'd very much like to streamline this over time.

Story images

There's old quests that's without visual fluff, and I'll add these in as things progress. The story images are admittedly self serving, because my passion is drawing after all, and drawing the characters I love is part of the joy

Final words

If you have wishes or suggestions yourself, feel free to write a comment with it. And I thank you for taking interest in Valor and Glory - it really is unbelievable the amount of love people have shown the game

Comments

Thank you for the amazing work!

Heya Vellex - Thanks for the idea ^^ Will take it into account. Maybe it could like ressource harvesting

Leopold Visette

I can't wait to see the game develop it seems you have some interesting plans especially the housing one that does sound interesting I wonder what kind of scenes would play out with that especially if later down the line it got something like a dungeon or something where you could keep like enemies you decide to capture or something idk that thought came to me when I read the housing part X3
