Happy Birthday to The Goblin!

Today marks the 1st anniversary of the release of the Goblin's Notebook!

In early 2021 I was DMing and tried putting campaign notes in various tools and found myself constantly losing things, not being able to easily find things I knew I had written down beforehand, and generally finding myself unorganized. So I looked around at what was on the market to help out, tried a bunch of options before concluding that nothing quite met my needs.

So I figured I would try and create what I had in mind!

Early April saw the first lines of code written and around 3 months later, on 3rd July, the notebook was ready for it's first public release, far from complete but quite usable. At this point I still wasn't really sure how much interest other people would have in it... Are my needs different to others? Would anyone find similar workflow useful?

It wasn't long before the first users started coming in, I started getting a whole bunch of positive feedback and suggestions for improvements. This gave me confidence that there was a demand beyond myself.

Many updates later, the notebook is becoming what I hoped it would and more! While still loads to do and new suggestions constantly finding their way onto the todo list, I'm really proud of the product and excited for its future!

And it would not have got to this point without all the users prepared to give a new product a go, suggest new features and (occasionally) put up with missing functionality on the promise of "I'll look at it in weeks/months".
