Added 2025-01-14 18:10:59 +0000 UTCIn light of the really disturbing article about Neil Gaiman, I only wanted to say this: I hope Gaiman gets what's coming to him, I hope every survivor finds peace and power, and I'm going to keep drawing Good Omens stuff until I run out of steam.

When I read he grew up in Scientology, his behaviour started to make sense. Nothing like a good old cult to fuck you up something terrible. If you leave one and don't get the professional help needed to reprogram yourself, you just end up harming other people. And that's not an excuse for how he acted. He apparently was never involved in the church as an adult. But once you get out in the real world, you should realise that the abusive way Scientology treats children is not normal. If that's not a wake-up call to get yourself to a good therapist to unpack your messed-up childhood before it affects your ability to act like a decent human being, I don't know what is.

And then went the extra step of WILLFULLY hurting, degrading, abusing, and demeaning on every level. It hurts. It's so complicated but simple at the core that he is a pathological abuser with a long history and can't act demure and all confused like he's not that kind of person. Much of his work meant a lot to me. I wasn't in the worship Neil like a god category before, but I liked having a calm voice in the fantasy and nerd world that seemed so encouraging and level minded. Good Omens is a part of me, and I am not leaving it. I can see many friends and popular artists stepping away, and everyone should do what is healthiest for them. And until then, I hope everyone he hurt comes forward and he gets his ending he deserves.
