I like the direction, the world building, and would love to see it continue, ideally with Kon not having a foot put on his neck by leadership, so we can continue to explore his cultivation and the runes he found. It does feel like the Knights aren’t much yet. Everyone that we’ve seen with armor, if they had a “detailed” fight they got their ass whipped. The only one who has stood up has been Alice and she didn’t have her armor, so I’m excited to see what the armor can really do when not in an overwhelming situation.

2025-06-17 18:28:40 +0000 UTCMy suspicion that Alice did not die came true. This series is an interesting read. It has a lot of potential for world building in the next few chapters. I liked Alice & Kon's interactions the best so far. Diur feels far less interesting. I have no idea if Kon was able to get his tablet back in hand before leaving the planet.

Your characters are well rounded, although they can seem a bit flat at times. Pacing is good, no crazy power creep, but was a bit rushed at the end leading up to the climax. I'm excited to see what will happen next, and that's a great sign!

More in depth, and its a want not a need for me.to enjoy this story. Overall thank you for giving me something to read and enjoy

2025-06-17 01:52:32 +0000 UTCI did wonder at the release of Diur by Daniur (kinda release) to explore what happens on the ship she has returned to. The mechanism where a now B grade practitioner has connections with human space and while in seclusion remained connected ... I'm hopeful there is a connection between Daniur's lightning and an awareness between planets and the practitioners there. Or she has a solid state intergalactic quantum entangled wireless radio to use. I'd kinda prefer the tech solution over cultivation technique. But either way, that mechanism to connect with others on a Crucible of a planet where normal communications are messed up, I think it needs a bit of thought.

I liked how the end of things happened, it was a nice way to give symmetry to Alice's journey. For me, a niggle issue was the lightning being an expression of Daniur's awareness and implication that it could be directed in some ways. I get the mechanism, but felt the lightning was not a participant in the battle, when it could have been written as such. For example, "the lightning bolt could have held itself self in place and charred the [insert enemy] here". Compliment: The use of Rot was really excellent, showing the decay of the pseudo-C grade monster. Where there was rot, I knew there was a bad thing taking place. Really good.

2025-06-16 21:01:00 +0000 UTCI think something you could do better is more frequently point out the ways in which Diur and others appear alien. If you asked me what a Ulmna looked like by this point I wouldn't have remembered back from when they were introduced as a species.
