The mother of all updates

Where to start... January threw my family and I for a wild loop. My dad came to visit just before New Year's, and he wound up in the emergency room several times for DIFFERENT things, had multiple invasive surgeries, nearly bled out, and lastly broke the ankle he could actually walk on. His entire vacation was spent suffering or recovering, and somehow he is just as grateful and optimistic as ever. He likes to say, "There are tragedies and inconveniences, and most things are an inconvenience." He considers this month a series of inconveniences.

I share this because my plan was to keep posting through January even though I was "off", but it just didn't happen. I've been pretty darn busy. Dad is currently in a physical therapy facility in Kahuku, which, if you look at a map of Oahu and you know where I live is literally as far away as you can get without coming back around again. But I have podcasts for my drive, and there's killer food trucks on the way, so I make it a couple times a week. He'll be there for a couple more weeks.

I haven't yet finished my paper art from friggin' December (can't haul my pencil caddy to the hospital), but that will be done soon, and another paper piece in February. So there's a lot on deck.

At the end of February I'll be going to see my wonderful beautiful beloved little sister in Florida. She has a Patreon too, by the way! And guess what? SHE'S HAVING A BABY! I'm so excited to wanna scream about it. So if you feel like joining her Patreon as well or instead of mine, you SHAN'T regret it and you'll be helping her greatly. She does amazing work.
