Video release (finally), and other thoughts!
Added 2014-10-28 20:51:42 +0000 UTCI cannot believe this video took me an entire month to complete. I had initially projected it to go live on the 16th of this month, before I left for Portland Retro Gaming Expo. I fell behind a little with the script, but still managed to get most of the work done before I left for the convention. Upon returning home, I got sick, which slowed down production even more. It's not even a long video, but it fought me the entire time. I'm glad to be done with it! Moving forward, I'd like to streamline my process for making videos. I've got a couple ideas as to what might work a bit better so I can get content out a bit faster. Instead of playing the game all at once, then writing the script, then sifting through the footage, I'm going to try to tackle it in chunks. I figure if I play just a little, it will be easy to write about and find the footage I need, then I can move on to the next part. I'm not sure if it's actually going to WORK, but it's worth a shot. One video a month is just unacceptable at this point. I'm also trying to come up with an idea for a new show that would be easier for me to create, to provide some padding before full Original releases. If you guys have any ideas, or if there's anything you'd like to see me try out, I'm open to suggestions!

I think you should comment on the art direction in games. I consider you an artist, like your last drawing showed us; and it would be nice to hear your opinion on the art style in games, like e.g. how you talked about "Among the Sleep" and mention it in most of the HE games. I don't know if this is similar to a "first impression" -kinda thing, but I think it would be interesting to have some input on that. But I don't know how much time it would take to script/edit such a video.

First impressions are your thing, but the strength of the writing combines with your own natural comedic talent to mesh into something more cohesive. Doing a small first impressions style show would turn out maybe like a smaller version of your own show, which might not work... No ideas here, other than that.

2014-10-30 00:45:44 +0000 UTCI know channels have employees, which would be one thing. Employees are a little easier to trust than volunteers. I can't afford to hire anyone, and honestly I'm not the best at working with people. I get really self conscious and tend to just like working alone. If I ever get big enough, though, I might consider hiring someone.

2014-10-29 17:02:07 +0000 UTCAs someone who seems to game a good bit on PC...maybe going through your Steam library and going through, A-Z. One hour of playtime each game, maybe? It's hard to say. The comedy seems to come from a more full impression of the game, except from the sim types of games that you have a ball with.

2014-10-29 00:48:09 +0000 UTCYou've said in the past you do most of your own work, but you might be able to save some time by outsourcing the nitty-gritty stuff to volunteers. It'd probably save you time, but you'd have to make sure you can trust people with whatever they've been asked to do, cause if their work is unacceptable you're out more time than you would have saved. They could also leak spoilers or even worse. It's a double edged sword but there are lots of channels that do it successfully.
