For today's update, we are excited to feature an artwork piece of Red Gardener Sergal commissioned by Rakakuza and drawn by Mick, alongside a very healthy and fresh chunk of lore, finally revealed information with regard to a civil servant job in Gold Ring, Gardeners!!

Artwork Aspect

The Sergal presented within the artwork belongs to the ranks of Red Gardeners, the armor and gear they are wearing are developed specifically for venturing out into and investigating Talyxian Biomes.

The spear has a function to extract a creature’s bodily fluids, acting in similarity to that of a syringe. 

Their masks which double as a helmet, are used to cover and provide protection to the wearer’s face as well as keep them safe from harmful gas emissions within the Talyxian Biome.

Gardeners

A sort of civil servant job and a name of official license enacted by The Gardeners Association, an organization stemming from the vein of Gold Ring's law which falls under the umbrella organization Gold Ring Circulatory Organization. There are two types in Gardeners classification, "Red Gardeners" and "Green Gardeners."

Not to be confused with Garden Knights, the occupation that performs religious and ceremonial duties as a symbol of the Central area of Gold Ring. Both belong to an organization stemming from the vein of Gold Ring's law but fall under the different umbrella organizations and have quite different roles and duties.

Red Gardeners are in charge of observing and processing dangerous living things, Green Gardeners are in charge of improving and managing useful creatures.

Both Gardeners are akin to scientists in the respects that they are tasked with and even excel in the general knowledge and system for foodstuffs and animal risk assessment. 

To get a license of Gardeners, a good amount of training and taking an examination are required.

The license is carried out under a rank system from 5th Place Class to Special Class. Depends on each class, there are differences and limits in the range of possible treatments and countermeasures that Gardeners can enforce towards Talyxian organisms.

In the case of Red Gardeners, their class is involved in a range of permission on how to attack or capture organisms. In the case of Green Gardeners, their class is involved in a range of authority to own, cultivation, breed, and sell organisms.

The distribution of living, domestic animals are also legally forbidden unless the domestic Talyxians are fully deemed safe by both Red and Green Gardeners, this also serves to sort and preserve species which yield positive results and boons.

Giten the Sergal butcher, for example, holds a license as both a Green and Red Gardener. Ono the Agudner has the Special Class of Red Gardeners License.

Red Gardeners

They are tasked with handling Talyxian creatures that are outside of the realms of Gold Ring nation.

They live in the outskirts of Gold Ring's desert, usually in outposts and such in order to carry out external observation, always. They are similar to park rangers in the sense that they are tasked with observing the state of Magoe or other Talyxian Forests. It's quite an important job, because the Forests are "living" in a sense, so keeping track of how they expand, grow, and change their appearance is vital for people passing through them, expeditions, etc.

The skill to fight against Talyxian creatures is required as a Red Gardener. In order to slay threatening creatures, they will be deployed to the area when tough matters arise regarding Talyxians. In contrast, they are not good at interpersonal fights against other Eltus.

On occasion, there have been incidents wherein Talyxian Stalkers become threatening and attacked people frequently within the Gold Ring nation. During these periods, Red Gardeners were commuting towards the inner nation and stationed there. When considering their usual job description, this was an unprecedented situation.

Alongside the capturing and dealing with Talyxian creatures, they also need knowledge and skills of indexing, cultivating, and of a few chemical material fields, mainly refining and processing. Due to this, almost all of them will also work as a livestock farmer or butcher as their side job.

Towards the outer, end areas of Salt Roads heading towards Gold Ring, there are some checking stations and quarantine stations emplaced in order to prevent biological threats and illegal trades. There, Road Guards will enact inspection of cargo and merchants identification, under the coaching of Red Gardeners. Road Guards who have Red Gardeners license will be more qualified due to this fact.

Green Gardeners

They are in charge of managing creatures that people treat inside of the Gold Ring nation.

Eltus plants within Gold Ring territory, such as Eltus protected Plantations within the nation as well as the Eltus biomes sanctuary on summit areas of the Lyvank Mountains, also fall under the management of Green Gardeners and are tended by them.

They have the authority of legislating, breeding, hybridizing safe, custom creatures and classifying and registering of their species, for general use and consumption.

Generally speaking, Talyxian creatures are very dangerous, because they have a strong instability and fluidity in their biological identity, they can change rapidly, almost akin to an unusual strain of influenza virus, for example, gaining rapid, unknown properties through forced evolution spurts. Most livestock in Gold Ring has been improved and cultivated via years of carefully carried out, safety experiments.

Many domestic animals and crops that are distributed amongst the populace within the nation, for example, pet hamsters and pigs being such a result after years of trial and error. Other odd results include "Pomatos" which are useful hybrid plants, occurred between potato and tomato.

Of course, there were quite a few fair shares of accidents along the way via the trial and error phases. As a result, it is strictly forbidden for people who have no license in the appropriate class to even attempt to make a mixed Talyxian breed or hybrid.

Strictly speaking, they are not "hybrids", but Talyxians with unknown properties.

Raw Concept of Gold Ring Circulatory Organization

The Gold Ring “Circulatory Organization” is one of the nation’s ministries. It is tasked with managing people’s health, the overall environment within and surrounding the nation itself.

Much like Gardeners role and duties do, this organization weighs in on the treatment and countermeasures for plants and animals, not measures of battle and defense towards people. This role is deeply related to what the concept of the Gold Ring nation means. 

Spiritually, as a concept, the circular shape of Gold Ring’s nation serves to imply and/or represent the shape of a giant cell, and therein the name “Gold Ring” takes on a metaphorical meaning, the circulation of organisms (inhabitants) in golden harmony. The circle of life.

If we were to consider the nation of Gold Ring as a single-celled organism, the Gold Ring “Circulatory Organization” would function as an immune system of the organism.

Conceptually, the battle and defense against nature (plants and animals) have a distinct similarity to that of apoptosis, where cells may die, but will regenerate or replenish over time. Because slain creatures can be used to benefit people’s lives as prime material or foodstuff, this system can be considered part of the circle of life concept that the Gold Ring Circulatory Organization Implies.

At the same time, battle and defense conducted towards human existences (the Eltus people) can not undergo the same treatment. The corpses of dead people cannot be eaten nor used like material, as the Eltus folks share ethics. Due to this, these serious, interpersonal matters may correspond to that of necrosis, just as cutting down and excluding the dead cells due to injury. This concept is outside of the realm of what the circulation of organisms in golden harmony is. It is the reason that the Gold Ring Circulatory Organization does not have a role that deals with matters pertaining to situations inevitably created by people.
