TALK - AVNs Update
Added 2025-05-02 04:00:06 +0000 UTCHey, I posted, Tuesday and Wednesday, why not Thursday, too?
I can't remember if mentioned it here. The AVN is currently off. I first mentioned AVNs a year ago. At the time I was going to attempt to do it with 2D artwork. Then I took a stab at Daz 3D rendering. That's still where I'm at.
I mentioned on Tuesday I might work on it "full time" (aside from my day job) once I get ahead with some stories/comics. Currently no AVN is in progress and all of the existing ones are in an "I may return to them eventually" status.
My render skills still need work. Part of the reason for making the comics it that they have to have continuity. But, unlike an AVN, they don't require sequences of a 30-40 images to make a "scene". Also, they use more sets. And making sets is a pain in the ass unless you like living rooms with a sofa, a coffee table, and a television and nothing else. Artwork on the walls? knickknacks on shelves? Lamps? Coffee stains, magazines, or little mementos on the coffee table? A throw rug? Couch pillows that look like someone uses them as pillows occasionally? Plants? Ugh. All of that requires thought.
But I digress. So far I've started and aborted several AVN ideas.
The Haunting - a story of a haunted house where the three ghosts used to be bondage subs to the former owner. The MC (main character) is a freshman college student living in off campus housing, the haunted house with eight bedrooms). Possessions, bondage, etc. FATAL FLAW - Too many characters. A lot of "norms" would be squiked out by the possession stuff. It is, admittedly, a bit r*pey. This one was before I started doing Daz. I'd like to return to this one but it won't be the first or second AVN I make.
Ted's Dolls Volume One - Okay, for a brief moment, I considered just saying fuck it and doing a doll transformation AVN. The main characters would be both Emily and Jane. The story would start during the day time before the first Jane story. Whenever the girls were turned into Dolls, the focus would jump to the other MC for the "boring" parts of being a doll alone in a room. The opening scene of this was fully written. Images of Jane and Emily are here and there. (Although, I would remake them if I went near this. Those figures were the second and third Daz figures I ever made.) FATAL FLAW - It would take thousands of hours to make an AVN. Doll Transformations are a bit niche for that.
Delights - a story about a boring man and the woman who works in a strip club. Started as the writer only with a guy who is amazing with 3D but can't commit to getting anything done. Sigh. I might tackle this one without him. It was a short story. FATAL FLAW - unreliable partner.
The Elevator - a slice of life story with 3 or 4 LIs (love interests) in which the MC just moved into a building in the city where he occasionally bumps into them on the elevator in his building. Small city. Wendy, Xenia, Yuliana, Zabrina, and Victor (MC) have all appeared in various Random Renders. (This was a phase where I thought too many AVNs have characters named Bella. But none have a Xenia that I'm aware of. :) ) FATAL FLAW - the premise is meh.
Djinni Island - Only 4 LIs but overly ambitious. This was a Fantasy Island (90s US TV) homage/rip off in which the MC is a rich dude looking for love that only Mr. Belloc can help him find through magic. I spent a lot of time trying to make a tropical island setting. All the images from yesterday are from this AVN. It will be the second AVN if I ever finish a first one. FATAL FLAW - ambition exceeding talent.
Case Files - One LI. This is a "do something small first" over simplification. The premise is the MC is a private investigator. Woman comes in, she asks him to find something. He does. They have sex. The End. The longer I put off starting this, the more complicated it gets: The woman is searching for a missing person the MC was dating in the prologue scene. Find her. They have a threesome. The End. :) Or I start thinking, if I make one, I can make another, and there's an unseen connection revealed in the fifth one. Sure, do something small. Right. FATAL FLAW - My penchant for making sequels.
What will I do? No idea. At this point, my scheduling is horrid. While the comics are good through the end of the year (and beyond), the story queue is only full through July. And I should get around to Ted's Doll 5. There were 9 months between the start of Season 2 and Season 3. 12 months between Season 3 and Season 4. The start of Season 4 was already 6 months ago and I have 6k words in 3 of 15 stories finished in Season 5. (One of them is "kinda done" at 3k of those words. (Libby is so easy to write. She's even more fun than Emily. (And they are both in that story.) But that's TD#57 aka S5E5 to extend my television metaphor.)) Based on prior works, I need about 50k words for Season 5.
In any case, comments... you know the drill. Tomorrow (Saturday) is the short story Premium Repair Service. (Since I'm moaning about word counts. I thought it was finished 1200 words about a month ago. It was just shy of 2k words when I posted it here a week ago.)
