Change of plans for this week 💜

Hey all!

TL:DR at the end for those who just want the dot points, otherwise I have some juicy news for you all! 😘

I've had some plans cooking away in the background for a long time, but with the constant schedule of comics (alongside some IRL events making things difficult) I've just not had the time to execute them.

So I decided I'm going to make the decision to put the comics on pause for this week to give me a solid amount of time to work on this new project.

And what is that project?...
I'm kicking off proper animations! 🥰

In the background I've been working away learning other 3D programs because DAZ Studio that I use for making the comic renders is just... dogshit to make animations in.
I've had a fair share of setbacks so far, changing programs left and right as I dive deeper into what they can offer me... it's been an absolute process.

The main thing I've been bumping up against is the ability to create characters in DAZ and then export them to the chosen program for animation... this SOUNDS easy, but when you look into it further it gets complicated quickly with different character rigs and bones, different render engines, different materials giving different visual results and different animation styles.

The OTHER thing is... I have myself a motion capture suit 😁
This is very exciting to use and a lot of fun, but of course the program needs to be able to incorporate that into it as well!

After trying out some other software, I ended up choosing Blender for my animations and I'm currently in the weeds trying to figure out how to get all my stuff into it, as well as learning the program.

The issue as to why it is taking so LONG is because if I'm trying to work on it during the week, I usually only have a day to tinker with it and problem solve... but then I need to drop the tinkering to make the comics the rest of the week.
This means when I get back to tinkering with animations, it's been a full week and I've lost all the momentum and have to spend a bunch of time remembering and relearning how the hell I got into the position I ended up in to then continue 😅

So I've decided to dedicate this week to getting this workflow going. Once the pipeline is created, then it will be MUCH easier to do cos I'll know what the hell I'm doing!

So I hope you can all forgive me for letting you go without comics for this week, but fingers crossed by next week I'll have a fun little animation to show you guys instead!
