I really like the existence of Aurole in this show's world. To borrow the words of a sometimes wise man, it's convenient :) For Frieren and by extension, the viewer. Even though Frieren will outlive anyone she becomes close with, there literally a physical location she can visit to spend more time with them. Sure, she can't just pop over there every Friday for Ghost Bingo, but she could absolutely visit it many times within her life and that thought makes me really happy..

She wouldn't enjoy the sunset, but everyone around her would be smiling, and that would make her enjoy the time she put into being present. Because that's just the type of person she is, she loves seeing everyone around her happy.
