Battle of Jutland - Visual Check and Voice Acting Oppurtunities

So, here's a quick look at 3rd Battlecruiser Squadron facing off against Lutzow and Derflinger. Feedback on if this kind of picture is clear enough and easy to follow would be appreciated, since this is the kind of image I want to use in the Jutland videos, but I can change the background colour if needed.

Seperately, there is an oppurtunity for some of you to appear in the video  recounting some of the action from survivors accounts.

For this, you'll need the following:

-A relatively clear static-free method of recording your voice

-Either a German or British accent (sorry to everyone else, but those are the two sides!)

-Able to record and send me the files within the next 7-10 days.

I need 3 German accents and about 8-9 British ones. Please let me know by private message if you'd be willing to give it a shot and (relatively speaking) on a first come - first served basis, I'll dish out some quotes. You'll also need to let me know how you'd like to be credited. :)

Battle of Jutland - Visual Check and Voice Acting Oppurtunities

Comments

I am a German native speaker living in the UK since 2004. I could either speak German or British with a horrible German accent.

I can do a fairly convincing accent for an American and have a good mic.

I have a Rode mic and an expensively procured English accent. I wil l now look for the direct message option.

Agree with a lot of the above comments. The second photo is preferable to me, and the addition of wakes would pretty much nail it for me. This is shaping up very nicely, great work so far.

I agree with the others here the 2nd aka isometric view of the ships was very much better. Cheers to incorporating at least some of us as voice actors.

You’ve probably already done all of your research but just in case the Battle of Jutland, Cambridge military history is really detailed on the ships movements, orders and the timeline.

I'm willing to audition for the British side and see if my British accent isn't excessively atrocious. I've done some voice acting and have a decent enough mike.

I would change the background color so that the model bases contrast better and serve as highlights. Maybe move it in more of a light grey direction.

+1 on wake markers, it also will make it easier to see which end of the ship is the front when the camera is zoomed out to show 2-3x the number of ships shown.

Where the hell are the Japanese torpedo boats?? Pffftt.. so much for historical accuracy.

Second the suggestion for wake marks, or an arrow marker for each squadron / line formation. It is not obvious which way the ships are going. (Although if the video is going to be full motion instead of just a series of static images, that would fix it.)

For my fifty-plus year old eyes, the top three ships (3rd BCS) are too dark for good contrast against the background. I suggest desaturating the sea, just enough to make us think "sea" rather than "paper"
