Hello!
I made a thing!
So after a lot of indecision on my part, I finally put together a little show reel showing some of the changes made in the rebuild. I say some as, in order to keep the video to a reasonable length, an awful lot had to be cut out. So the video only shows part of the changes and doesn't have full length animations but it will give you a feel for what I've been up to.
Now obviously you'll have your own views on whether these changes are worth it and, given those views are subjective, those views are right for you. But for me, I think that not only is the game significantly better graphically but it also plays better, reads better and generally hangs together as a product a lot more cohesively than it did previously. Alright, having done all of this work without patronage since the crash that kicked off this chain of thought, I concede it would be unlikely for me to say anything else I suppose. :)
But I do think it's true. To me this is a far superior game from what we had before and, especially in terms of design and gameplay, you'll reap the benefits of all that work going forward.
You'll also reap the benefits of my greater animation experience. My animating has come on in leaps and bounds, so much so that even some of the earlier re-work looks shoddy to me by comparison (No, don't worry, I'm not touching it again!)
Due to the adult nature of much of the video, I'm afraid I can't find anywhere to host it without it being taken down in minutes so I'm afraid it's download only.
Chapter Five
Not an awful lot of news here since last time. It's mainly animation corrections and VA work. There is some testing to do but the big thing to do next week is to bring all the various pieces of work and modules into a single game. It's a simple enough task but does require me to take it slow and steady.
I still need to put together a trailer for Five but every time I have a go I keep going "I can't show that, that would spoil what happens" etc. I'll come up with something I'm sure.
Other news
It looks like the 4090 will turn up some time next week. A bit later than I expected but better than not having one at all. I can't wait to see what it can do to be honest.
And that's it for now. Thank you once again for your patience but finally the end is in sight. :)
Take care,
Notty
