I'm attaching every test along the way to the final product. I actually prefer the second sketch (the one on display) with the simple shading. The rest are attached.

I don't plan on doing anything more complex than repetitive movements, at least not anytime soon. If I ever got in touch with some one versed in 3D modeling I'd love to share my Sculptris models and see what they could do with them in terms of retopology and rigging.
