That doesn't make you closed minded. But when you point out that a new piece of art isn't done the way you would have done it or the way an older piece was done, it might. You said the lack of line work wasn't the reason for the lack of detail but that's exactly what you were getting at. I'm trying to establish a more painted look/style, similar to watercolors almost, and line work doesn't fit with it. Maybe I'll find a way to incorporate it but at the moment I haven't. I understand your point of view on the matter but just because I understand it, doesn't mean I'm going to change the way I do anything. I appreciate your input and hope you at least understand where I'm coming from in regard to my art and developing it into something enjoyable to produce.

his work has always changed and developed over time. if his line and detail work is different, then it's different. he said himself in the q & a section, "I think it was a matter of transitioning to purely digital work and also trying to evolve a style that I was comfortable with and felt good about. I'll try to reply to both your comments here. What I meant by the sketch look is simple. Inks or not, it lacks the details of the kind of fully finished drawing of yours I linked. I didn't say anything about style because it fits perfectly with your previous body of work. The proportions are all the same, the poses and coloring work too. Theres no stylistic difference to talk about. To me this piece simply appear to be a few steps short of the final drawing process. A sketch. The shapes are rough, lacking clarity and details. I am disappointed because over the years you amazed us with your awesome work. I know very well that all things considered my support doesn't mean much in the grander scale. But I am a bit sad honestly how this Patreon starts. Charging in advance for promised art and a sketch later. Personally I would never charge for sketches here, never have actually. To me this seems like a flatcolor layer was added under the initial sketch layer with a simple highlight above it, the only details are the eyes and the few shiny parts.

Explain how a fully colored and shaded drawing is "a sketch" because it lacks heavy handed line work... (EDIT: It looks different from older work for various reasons. It's a different universe from 2 Hot Blondes. It's a different style of character. It's a different technique. Just because it's the same artist, doesn't mean it should look the same.)

Consider the original super-deformed style of the PPG, where their heads were 2/3 of their whole body mass. I think it's cool to see a different style for this, rather than have Pit adhere to the same style for all his different series.
