My presentation at the Oncology Symposium 2021

Last weekend Julia and I went on a trip to Hollywood, where I gave a presentation about my cancer case. It's the second time I've done this. Julia made me a small presentation in Canva so I could show off some pictures that I didn't have last time in 2019. I thought I'd share it with you here, in case you've missed the stream or my bit on YouTube last Saturday.

The event was organised by Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach by Karen Stephenson, who was my oncologist's nurse practitioner at the time of my treatment. We were such an amazing team, and it was my pleasure to help out with AV needs and PowerPoint presentations for the 9 speakers. Dr. Cusnir, my oncologist gave a talk too, it's all about sharing discoveries about cancer care for industry professionals across the globe. 

There were 45 sponsors and over 100 attendees in the auditorium, including the guys from Merck who had a stand for the immunotherapy drug that saved my life. We had a nice chat about how we might work together on future Keytruda presentations. Wouldn't that be a nice sideline for me? Motivational public speaker!

I've edited all talks and uploaded them to a dedicated Oncology Symposium Channel (aka my cancer channel). I did quite a bit of work on this project, but it all took less than two days to post-produce. Last year's presentations are there too, as well as previous cancer talks I gave over the years.

As an interesting aside: some of the photos I had to rescue my old iPhone 5s, the one I fixed myself due to an old battery. Can you believe that replacement battery subsequently expanded and popped the phone open? It didn't work anymore and iFixit offered to replace the part - but that didn't help me last week Wednesday because the phone didn't turn on. Thankfully we found an iPhone repair shop in my neighbourhood that did the job in less than an hour. It's The Universe at work making things happen just in time :-)

We're planning another event for next year at the same venue (Margaritaville, hence the Jimmy Buffet dress code - it was mandatory).
