How to use the Iray Section Node in DAZ Studio
Added 2020-09-25 11:15:03 +0000 UTCI happened upon this super exciting Iray feature called Section Node. This little fella acts like a knife in your scene and can cut through the most complex objects like a knife through hot butter. In this episode I'll show you how to use it. This could be used for anything from medical illustrations to sci-fi effects.

Such an effect is so easy to animate with this tool. I was thinking of having a character walk through a portal and get disintegrated like that. My other idea is to show a house or interior being shown this way.

Characters are teleported from the real world to another world and are sort of reconstructed from the top down like it's being done by a 3D printer. You see their their bodies, including what's inside, as they are being assembled back together.
