Cedar-Ashens 3: Not sure if done before and to go with the first suggestion, rabbit themed hag and witch? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rabbits, horseshoes, four leaf clovers, each of these are deemed to be “Lucky” based on much western superstition. It’s unknown where some of these beliefs stem from, but those who delve into the occult believe some of them may derive from the Rabbit Witch. Also known as a Luck witch, a Bunny witch, Hare witch, or Lucky Maiden, Rabbit witches are those which use their arcane powers to manipulate their own luck for the better, while also invoking the abilities of the humble rabbit. Often taking on many rabbit like qualities, Rabbit witches are known for being spry, quick, elegant, graceful, and intelligent. It is believed by occultists that the physical anomaly known as a cleft lip, or in antiquity as a “Hare lip” is evidence of a Rabbit witch or Luck witch somewhere in your family line. Though it’s likely to be untrue completely, meaning not everyone with such a feature is related, it does seem that the trait is much more common in those related to Rabbit witches, and it occurs in nearly 40% of rabbit witches. Because of this, it unfortunately led some witch fearing societies to kill babies born with this trait in ancient times. It is also much more likely for the seventh child in a family to be born as a Rabbit witch. In modern times, the P.R.I.M.E. organization has a protocol known as the “1 in 7 act” which monitors all seventh born siblings in families across the country for early signs of being a witch. Rabbit witches may have actual rabbit features, with some having claws, very long ears, an animal like nose, whiskers, large feet, a tail, or even fur on some parts of their bodies, though many of them still appear as normal humans, they simply display other rabbit features. Rabbit witches can move much more swiftly than a normal human, can often times dig and run much faster, and have incredibly powerful legs and teeth. They are of course also known as symbols of fertility, and though they aren’t the same as Fertility witches, they are sometimes considered to be just as revered, and are often times used as wet nurses, and midwives for pregnant mothers, and their tonics and magics are sought after by those seeking to become pregnant. There is some truth in this, as Rabbit witches are far more likely to have multiple pregnancies than a normal human or even a witch, with triplets, being the most common, and even up to a “Litter” of 12 having occurred. Some have their feet revered, believing that kissing the feet of a Rabbit witch can aid in fertility issues. However there are other beliefs that their head, blood, and feet could be collected for permanent fertility charms, or that body parts could be eaten (Especially reproductive organs, womb, heart, or brain tissue) to enhance one’s ability to reproduce, which has led to many witch hunts, and for some Witch hunters to carry a witch’s foot on their person for luck. This is unfortunately true, as one can gain a modicum of the witch’s luck from her own corpse. Luckily for the Rabbit witch, it’s a bit difficult to kill them due to their ability to manipulate luck around them. Rabbit witches are not only swift and graceful, but they can cause weapons to malfunction, bullets to miss, ankles to twist, and everything to fall perfectly into place to protect them from harm. Rabbit witches can cause unseen changes in the world around them to subtly increase luck around themselves. This could cause a witch to find money on the street when she needs it most, or go fall into the arms of a potential lover when she stumbles in a pothole. This is always to the witch’s benefit, and often times to those around the witch as well, though not if they are hostile toward her, in which their luck takes an inverse turn. For friendly, helpful and kind Rabbit witches, this is very beneficial to the entire community, though superstition often causes others to believe it’s her fault when luck does inevitably run out. For evil rabbit witches however, it can be a blight on a community, with people stumbling into traffic, diseases running rampant, and wallets finding themselves empty. Rabbit witches can control this luck as well as simply allowing it to happen naturally around themselves, and because of it, many are followers of the goddess Tyche, or other deities or entities of gambling, and love games of chance, using their magic to manipulate the outcome of various events. This allows Rabbit witches to counteract the effects of many other witch curses, and because of this they are both hated and revered in witch covens as one always wants a rabbit witch on their side, but never wishes to face one. This has put them in opposition to cat witches, often known as Bad Luck, or Misfortune witches since the dawn of witchcraft, though those who put their differences aside can lead to formidable and learn various magic punches and kicks, but also teleportation and the ability to open “Rabbit holes” to disappear through. These openings can be set to only trigger under certain circumstances, allowing witches to open rabbit holes in a location and rush through them when in danger, but not allowing any creature following her to pass through it unless she allows it. While many revere Tyche, others may follow other deities such as the White Rabbit, or various fae gods such as Chang’e and some follow moon deities such as Tsukuyomi. Some follow more dark, eldritch gods and goddesses however, as evil witches are want to do. Rabbit witches possess a unique form of the Witch evil eye, which allows her to afflict her enemies with a prey mentality, causing them to become fearful and to flee from those whom they deem as “predators”. They have Rabbits and hares as familiars, sometimes sending them to spy on others, but sometimes having more strange familiars such as more fey creatures such as a Wawa, Ugwa (also known as a Goon), Jackalope, Almiraj, or Wolpertingers as familiar creatures or minions. Some however have a much more deadly enforcer in the form of a March Hare or Bunnyman. Rabbit witches who go down dark paths, feeding on evil and causing misfortune for others, will become Rabbit Hags. Also known as Bunny Hags, Luck Hags, or hags of the seven. Rabbit Hags become monstrous, large, and deformed, just as any other type of hag, but they tend to grow large rabbit features while their humanoid features sink into the hideous amalgam form. Rabbit hags grow additional fingers, always having 7 of them, and they tend to take on more fae like qualities. Many who have dealt with Rabbit hags believe them to be fae, and occultists believe that there is a possibility fae and human breeding in the past may have resulted in Rabbit witches to exist in the first place. Rabbit Hags are masters of teleportation, able to open rabbit holes and move through them with extreme ease, and they can leap extremely high and land with a destructive force. Along with this their luck manipulation is great, allowing them to avoid every bullet or projectile fired at them, and more modern weaponry to jam or even explode. Their evil eye isn’t temporary, and the fear they afflict others with is permanent, as they constantly fear being hunted down by a violent beast, and often go mad or die from the fear. One of the most horrifying powers that the Rabbit hag has in her arsenal is the ability to subtly and manipulate time. It can cause time to progress around creatures more quickly, or more slowly, or at least the perception of it, and it can even force a creature to repeat it’s own actions, though only the most powerful Rabbit Hags are capable of such abilities. Rabbit hags are often times in covens with other rabbit witches, and never have more or less than seven members. If one dies and cannot be replaced within seven days, the entire coven disbands. Only rabbit hags in covens are able to manipulate time. They do pair with Pumpkin witches, as well as various types of subterranean witch such as a tunnel witch or forest witch as well, playing on eachother’s strengths while the rabbit hag raises the luck of the entire coven. Rabbbit hags and witches are uncommon, and even witches with a rabbit motif may not be an actual Rabbit witch as it is believed that only 1 in every 7,000 witches is born as a Luck witch. That following that only 1 in every 100,000 females is born a witch outside of a lineage of witch blooded individuals, it’s not very common outside of very specific locations. On Earth they are much more common in asian and eastern European countries than anywhere else in the world, and it is believed to be attributed to a luck witch that purportedly traveled with Ghengis Khan long ago. Rabbit hags are often want to polymorph children into bunnies whom she takes care of, but also skins and eats to harvest their innocence. Some of these skinned bunny children are transformed in a hideous process into a kind of creature known as a March Hare, which they use as minions, guards, or even familiars. The saying “Mad as a March Hare” often times comes from the behaviors of the male hare in March, the height of the rabbit mating season, in which males will go head over heels for females, and will leap about in grand displays, even boxing other males for dominance. However there may indeed be much stranger, and darker origins for this statement, and they may be referring to the Fae creature known as a March Hare. Though they can occur naturally due to fae magic, most of the time if you come across a true bunnyman, it’s due to the dark forces of an evil spellcaster. A Bunnyman appears to be a humanoid in a mascot like rabbit costume. Often time smelling of decay, rot, or sickness, though sometimes they smell too sterile or like medication. Though externally they seem to just be a man in a bunny costume breathing heavily, looking deep into it’s faux eyes and mouth can reveal the hideous, and distorted thing which lies beneath. The fae herald from an ancient dimension of swirling chaos and primordial beauty. A world of danger and madness that was once a thriving, green landscape, however due to some sole, nuclear cataclysm caused by opposing entities, their world was destroyed, burned, and cast into eternal darkness forever in an instant. This term of nuclear chaos invokes to the modern mind nuclear weaponry, but the statement of “Nuclear Chaos” here refers to a “Nucleus” or “Central most important part”, inferring the true center of Multiversal Chaos was what made contact with their world and tore it asunder. Many fae were displaced, some were instantly killed, some had their bodies rended down to their soul, and others their souls rended until only their divine flesh remained. The Skinwalkers are fae that no longer possess a physical form in the way we understand it, and must manifest through the flesh of other living things, warping them and contorting them to return to a fraction of what they once were. These possessions come in many forms, however in many cases, they will possess a creature at the moment it dies, to carry on a new life in it’s stead. Stories of people who have experienced “Near death” experiences, may have actually died and their change of personality afterward may be in part that they aren’t truly themselves anymore. In some cased the possession comes to those who have died in the woods. Inhabited and infested by a strange thing that usurps the rotting corpse and repurposes it for it’s own means. It is unknown what drives them to the shape of the rabbit, but a large number of these entities don strange outfits, like that of a more modern day mascot costume. Even in days of old, the costumes were similar, simply crafted from hides and other similar materials then, but always in the form of an animal, and more often than not the form of a rabbit. March hares use their rabbit costume to enter locations and appear as a sort of mascot, silently drawing children to themselves, and often times luring them into the woods with the intention of killing them. Hey will often perform comedic acts or small sleight of hand tricks before suddenly killing their target, though there have been many occasions in which the creature will simply stalk a creature quietly and overpower it with violence, or some who have reportedly screamed and yelled at their targets while attacking wildly. The reason why they kill is unknown, as they have never been seen taking anything from their victims, or eating them unless they are under the employ of a greater creature such as a witch or some other sort of fae. When a target is killed, it is often times skinned, and left to hang in the same way a hunter would do for a rabbit that they plan to eat. They are not typically seen outside of their costumes, though if a costume is badly damaged it does seem to recover slowly over time. March hares are very strong, bypassing typical human strength in the same way that undead with no regard for their body’s limitations do. They are very durable as well, able to suffer from various violent attacks and even close range explosives and continue attacking. Even when one would be potentially killed, they often times heal slowly and return to an active state shortly after. They seem to share qualities with undead as well as fae, and as such holy power and iron weapons tend to work wonders in protecting yourself against one. March Hares are also able to create Rabbit holes, and teleport through them, often times when no one is looking. However these “Rabbit Holes” are essentially small wormholes burrowed through reality from which they travel from one location to another swiftly. March Hares possess a horrifying ability, so that if they are able to grab you with both hands and pull them behind your back, they can pull your flesh off in a clean motion that takes only a few hard tugs. They are also able to vanish and reappear, often times when unobserved or in shadows. This is believed to be why so many sightings of them are beneath bridges, as fae often utilize the underside of objects, such as beds, carpets, boxes, and bridges to slide from one reality to the next and emerge into this world. No one is sure where the costumes come from for a Bunnyman. Though DNA testing reveals that they certainly use skinned corpses of humans as a physical form, it has never been reported that a skinless corpse has stolen a bunny costume of some sort, and it seems almost as if the outfit is manifest with them through some strange means. Particularly vile spellcasters can create a bunnyman by skinning a human and placing the pelt of a skinned rabbit over the dying human’s face, allowing for a transformation to occur. These rituals may tie the march hare to the creator, or to a specific location, and may force them to follow specific rules to manifest, especially based on the power level of the caster in question. The two most well known forms of the March Hare on Earth stem from the depiction of a rather insane rabbit in Lewis Carrols Alice in Wonderland. The second, and more accurate depiction stems from Colchester Virginia in America, where sightings from 1917 to 2013 of “The Bunnyman” occurred every few decades or so, killing wayward groups of teens until it was secretly captured by the organization known as P.R.I.M.E.
