Update 29: Blendercon

Hey everyone!

So, just got back from blendercon in the last few days, that was a hell of an event!

It was truly inspiring to be rubbing shoulders with some of the best artists in the industry, I met people who worked on big hollywood movies and everything in between.

I met the guy who quite literally wrote the book on human anatomy, and got him to sign a copy for me.

I found the experience both humbling and inspiring, as I saw people giving talks that were at all levels of skill, most a lot better than I, but equally some that are just beginning their journey.

Overall a hugely inspiring event I'm looking forward to attending again next year.

Unfortunately I brought back some kind of cold/flu type arrangement that I'm suffering through so, it wasn't the triumphantly inspired immediate return to work I was hoping for!

I do, however, continue to chip away at the Aimee X Brig epsiode.

Right now it's a bit semi-incomplete as I haven't animated every element, and there's some shader work on it I need to do, all easy stuff to do just not something I've gotten around to doing just yet given I've been away from the project most of the time whilst waiting for rigging tweaks and being quite literally out of the country, so no previews for you all, I'm still deciding on the shot order, and considering 'shooting' this one in landscape, since it seems to be the far preferable format for people to consume it.

The reason I shot it in portrait originally was because of the orientation, it was the format that allowed me to show everything all at once that was happening, in other words, artistic choice.

But that does restrict it's enjoyment potential if you're the type that likes to put it up on some kind of big screen, PC monitor or TV.

So, I'm rather indifferent to it as an option, I'm interested in what you guys think, I can't guarantee I will abide by the result of this, if I can't make it work I can't make it work, but just to give me an idea of what you all are thinking on this subject.

More news as it comes, as ever, never can predict how long a project will take, but I feel confident I can get this one out this month.

portrait is amazing but i understand many do not like it, but if you can do short bite sized clips or loops as portrait that would be really fun!

Hopefully you didn't catch that shit of Covid. Take a break. MJ, and recover your health first before you go to work again. Didn't know yet that there is also an exhibition for 3D-artists, interesting. I chose the 3rd option "Don't mind" because I don't really understand what this is about.

Ooof, here's hoping you recover quickly! Glad you enjoyed the con though!

Your work is still on another level and on top in your category. I can't necessarily give a good overview of skill level as I don't study 3D but as far as composition and lighting it's pretty neat as well as designs. I not only enjoy it for the type of content but for the artistic side of it. It's insane to me 💜. Been sick a few weeks back too and it was intense. Take care buddy.

"most a lot better than I"... I have yet to find any other adult artists anywhere near your level. And believe me, I've looked. You should be extremely proud of the quality of even your older work, and it's only gotten more high-quality since then.

Landscape is very much preferable to me, as my partner and I like watching your videos on the bedroom TV.

JT

Landscape seems to be the norm as we all may in a pinch watch on our mobiles but prefer the larger screens or tvs we use.

Hope you feel better soon. Glad you had a good time at the con, your passion for your work shows! For me personally I love the landscape orientation, just feels like you get to see more. Can't really explain in detail why I like it more but I think that's what kept me from really loving the chun li scene. Ultimately I trust your artistic eye to make it awesome in the end. Can't wait to see it!

Sorry to hear you are feeling sick. There is a lot of it going around. Personally, your art is amazing. I can’t wait to see how your talent and creativity develops. Keep it up

Feel better! I caught the same flu a few weeks ago.
