The rock creature is a direct satire of a Star Trek episode. The fan kid who helps them with directions was played by Justin Long, who has done comedies, as well as tv ads of "Mac Vs. PC" (2006β2009). A couple other comedies Alan Rickman did: Blow Dry 2001, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 2005. Yes, Meli is a nice reaction pairing with you.π
