Added 2024-08-15 01:59:16 +0000 UTCThis movie won last month's poll, sorry it's a little late!
I LOVED watching this. I had no idea what to expect and I am so glad I went into it completely blind!
I'd love more movies of this type, so if you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments!

When my girlfriend, and i walked out of Speed, we looked at one another and both said, this movie is going to be huge!! It did pretty well lol Love their chemistry!! I know you mentioned not really loving The Lake House, which they also starred in. I'm a sucker for both fantasy, and romance, and actually like that one a lot. That was a fun watch Cristy! I was feeling your stress! Looking forward to more Hawkeye! Glad you're back!

Because I love this movie and know it so well, I jotted down some notes to talk about as I watched your reaction. Here we go- First, it's awesome that you didn't know anything about the movie before you started watching it. Lots of people, even if they've never seen the movie, know about the bus/bomb plot. But I bet that it definitely contributed to your enjoyment of the movie by not knowing. There was a funny moment on an episode of the Simpsons where Homer is talking to his coworkers, and he tells them: "I saw this movie once about this bus that had to SPEED all over the city, making sure to keep its SPEED above fifty, because if it dropped its SPEED, it would explode. I think it was called 'The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down' ". Anyway, let's get to you watching the movie... wait, you lost your Hail Hydration Station? Well, no worries. Lose one, and two more will take its place. We don't mind you singing along with the 20th Century Fox fanfare music. We all do it ourselves, anyway. đ It's funny that you're seeming to get impatient with the length of the opening credits. I was saying to my screen, "Enjoy this calm, peaceful moment while you can!" When Jack and Harry were in that parking garage with Payne, you were saying that Jack should have shot him once Harry was clear. But as I think you realize now, Payne had that huge bomb strapped to himself and was holding the detonator. So if Jack had shot him, he almost certainly would have dropped the stick and killed all three of them. That was why Jack was so reluctant to shoot him and tried to go after him instead. Ah yes, the pay phone ringing! It didn't occur to me that this part might give you brief flashbacks of Miracl Mile. Don't worry, I can't think offhand of any other movies that feature one. Even so, perhaps you should have a drink ready to go whenever the movie or show that you're watching has a pay phone that is ringing, lol. I can certainly tell by how you're reacting and shifting that the movie is making you really anxious. At this point I'm thinking, "Where are your fidget spinners?! This is exactly what you have them for." I really wish that I had seen this movie in a packed theater on opening night. I can only imagine how the audience would have collectively reacted at certain scenes like for instance with the baby carriage. Yup, Howard Payne missing a thumb on his left hand. You could kind of notice it at the beginning of the move he was alone in the freight elevator, and then a little later when he was applauding at his TV, but the movie didn't go out of its way to make that clear until much later You may have missed it, but Jack's reasoning for trying to jump the gap in the freeway was that because it was an interchange, there might be an incline. As you can imagine, this aspect of the movie was the most contested when the movie came out, with people debating whether such a jump would be possible. The show Mythbusters even did an episode to either prove or disprove how possible it was. The results? Almost everybody agrees that such a feat would "not* be possible. But it sure made for some great suspense! The plane that exploded along with the bus was a courier plane as you noted, but you may have missed that the plane was being towed at the time by that small yellow truck, so there really wasn't anybody on board. And they made a point to show that the driver of the truck that was towing the plane escaped unharmed. I was surprised after Jack and Annie were finally able to escape the bus that you said to them, "Please don't kiss". That's such a change from your usual motto when you're watching a movie: "Now kiss!" which to me is as essential to your channel as "Ay, noooooo!" You shouldn't be too upset with Annie getting out of the ambulance. It's not like she went running all over the area. She was still standing within arm's reach of the ambulance when Payne took her. Just needed to stretch her legs, poor lady. To wrap it up, I loved, loved, loved your reaction to Speed! It was almost like getting to watch it again for the first time, just thru your eyes. I'm glad that you're back in your home studio and can't wait to watch many more movies with you. đ

2024-08-16 17:27:31 +0000 UTCOther anxiety inducing action is..."Unstoppable" with Denzel Washington and Chris Pine about a runaway train, and the non "Hollywood big budget" Cinematic classic movie actually called "Runaway Train" and to stick with the runaway train theme there is "Silver Streak" a classic 70's comedy thriller with comedic Legend Richard Pryor with his first team up with actor Gene Wilder( "Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory") which would start their run as a legendary comedic cinema duo.
