Hi, I'm Droid. I'm one of the programmers on Paradise Lust, and if you've come to hang out with us on Discord you probably know me (if not, come join us; it's an awesome place).
Chase (the main writer of Paradise Lust) and I have been working together for years, but always making normie (SFW) games. Mobile, PC and Console, casual games and hardcore strategy games. After years and years as a programmer I started feeling a little stale, and started making an adult game as a hobby. That game became Love of Magic, and Book 2 launches today on Steam.
I eventually managed to convince Chase that there was indeed potential in the adult VN market, which sparked the brainstorming that eventually ended up becoming Paradise Lust.
Love of Magic's an Urban Fantasy VN/RPG, a world where Magic and Gods rub shoulders with the modern world we know, weaving together Norse, Celtic and Arthurian myths. You might recognize the basic idea from movies like Highlander, or The Crow, or from books like Dresden Files and Iron Druid.

The core of the game might be quite reminiscent of Paradise Lust, since Paradise Lust started its life as a fork of the Love of Magic codebase. That allowed us to get up and running quickly, and meant a lot of stuff was already tested and working before we started.
With one of my key inspirations being the Persona 4 and 5 games, one key difference is that Love of Magic uses an ongoing calendar to drive the storyline, with every central event happening at a specific date. The remaining free days can be spent discovering side-quests, building your character or practicing your magic in the randomly generated dungeon.

Book 2 expands a bit on that formula, adding a world map you can traverse, a home base you can upgrade and kingdom events that let you control the direction of the War. What starts as a college slice of life gradually gathers momentum as you recruit your companions and discover your destiny.

I try not to shill Love of Magic too much on the Paradise Lust side of things, but finally finishing Book 2 after 18 months working nights and weekends feels like a personal milestone, so I'm making an exception for myself :)

All in all it's around 30+ hours of story across two books, in addition to the various side quests and the repeatable dungeons. You can grab it on Steam, or alternatively join as a Patreon (I give Steam keys to any Patreons that want one). Come for the cute girls, stay for the story and the characters.
