Upgrading Maria's Nun Scene

We're in the middle of spicing up our sex scenes; it's a big chunk of effort, but we think it'll be worth it in the end. Let's walk through Maria's nun scene (one of my personal favorites).

The first thing that's happening is the new Dynamic Camera. We now support zooms, pans and rotates in sex-scenes, and the whole thing helps the system feel less static. We're almost done pushing those changes to all the sex scenes in the game; it'll hopefully be done by the end of the week.

Going along with the zooms, we're also upgrading the faces to double the resolutions so they look okay when zoomed in. In the scene above you can see that Jack's face has gotten the resolution upgrade, and looks nice and clean even when zoomed in, while Maria's face is still awaiting her upgrade, and looks a little pixelated when zoomed in.

We added the ability to tie specific sound effects to specific frames in the cutscene videos, here seen as Jack beats the devil out of Maria. In this case, there's actually two sounds being played, the smack and the moan, with 5 different variations of both. We can then randomize clips for both of them independently, so there's actually 5 x 5, or 25 different combinations of smack/moan happening. For anything looping like this, you really want to try to break up the looping in little ways to make it feel more natural.

Finally we're adding Voice Over moans to each of the girls. We're bringing in several voice actors to help out on that; the girl voicing Maria is the lovely CinderDryadVA  whose other work you can check out on her Twitter. We'll talk about the other VAs as their work gets into the game; as of tonight's build you can check out CinderDryad's as Maria.

Again we're going for a random implementation to stop things from looping too badly; each 'degree' of lewdness has 15-20 different sound clips, and it'll pick a new one from the set each time the previous one stops playing. Then in the puppeteering section we just set up what the degree of lewdness for this line of text is, and the underlying system does the rest of the magic of blending between them.
