I've been in the middle of FL for five years now. If you are looking for beautiful weather with sun, this is the place to be. Sun sun sun, I can't get away from it. Lol
I think we only turned the heat on three times each of those five years. The down side is that it is dry aka the humidity is nonexistent, ( win for me there). Also barely any bugs! It rained maybe twice this winter. The grass turns lighter/ more yellow and trees do drop their leaves. But there are a lot of evergreen here (including the palm trees). So depending on where you choose to live you could still have that greenery you are talking about. We live next to a wildlife preserve/management area so tons of trees and wildlife (mostly birds).
I have only had one alligator show up in the neighbors yard. He caught him and brought the alligator to the river which is more like a lake. We do have a water.... it's not a stream, it's for when there is flooding in the summer and it drains out into a river. We figured he was looking for water because it was so dry. And if you want to see them in nature, there places you can go like the wet lands (it's an actual place) and they are basking in the sun or trailing in the water. They just stand there especially in the morning when they're not warmed up enough yet.
Now I'm not saying don't be careful if your walking the pups next to water, but most of the walkways we've been on are mounded up so they can't climb it easily. I've only seen a few snakes in my yard which is cool because it's the same ones just a little bigger each time. They have never bothered us and alway go the opposite direction of us.
As much as I miss New England and the snow because that is the best Srping, Summer, Fall, (I'm working my way back up there), I think I'll alway come back down here for winter. And never in my life did I think I would ever, ever say that.
Hope your hunt is going well since I'm watching this so late,
AG

I agree with the idea of wintering in NC. I used to own a home outside of Raleigh and winters are usually pretty mild. Some years you will get snow -- and lots of it. But I'm telling you, the energy of that area is unmatched, and the cultural events are phenomenal. It's a whole elevated southern vibe. It is a great place to live. I only moved away for work.

Camano Island, Washington is beautiful in the winter. Not alot of snow in the winter as the norm.

So sorry to hear about your dad, but so glad he is recovering!! My goodness! Aren't elderly parents scary?! My mom is 76 and I cannot tell you how many times she has absolutely terrified me both with her medical issues and also her eyebrow raising decisions that were born from purely brazen stubbornness. I think my mom is more than happy to assist in my hair going prematurely white LOL.
As for my first ever crush, it was probably the "Romeo and Juliet" version of Leonardo DiCaprio (I could probably super embarrassingly act it out if forced to at gun point), or it might have been "Interview with the Vampire" version of Brad Pitt..Louis was sensitively dreamy (sighs).
I also think you mentioned that you're into a new true crime show about people who survive crimes. I highly recommend you tune into the podcast "Radio Rental." It's a true horror podcast of unexplained scariness (paranormal, true crime, etc) hosted by the magical Rainn Wilson of The Office. I think you and others on here will find it delightful! :)

My mom had back surgery last year and she ended up in the ICU on Mother's Day with a staff infection. I couldn't eat, sleep, or keep liquids down I was so worried. She's up and moving around better than ever, but that was THEE scariest week of my entire life.

Mark Paul Gosselaar was my first celeb crush. However, I’ve recently gotten into watching Friends show and now being in my late 30s, I did find Tom Selleck extremely attractive playing Richard 😳 it may be the mustache though. Freddy Mercury has been and forever will be my greatest love. Rip 🕊️

Didn’t get to watch the stream live but I’m watching now. You should check out the Lake Norman area of North Carolina. It’s so beautiful here. We don’t get snow in this area and it’s sunny and green. Highly recommend checking it out. We are at 75-80 degrees here this week.

I would absolutely love to buy your dining room wallpaper please please please ! I understand how you feel about the bitter cold of upstate New York. I am a Southern California beach girl living in Roanoke Virginia. I laughed out loud when you talked about snow because that is exactly how I feel. Fortunately we only got one day of snow here this year. For me it is the lack of sunshine the gray skies. Maybe a long vacation in February is what you need. All the best!

Hey, Suicidal-thoughts-Barbie, winter HAS gotten to you. It would to most of us. Go take 2 weeks somewhere...go visit your parents in SoCal. Take the pets too. Be in sunshine. It's raining here today in San Diego, it's chilly and grey but will be beautiful the rest of the week. I'm sure LA is similar.
Your projects can wait til you get back. You are allowed to take a break and don't let anyone tell you differently. Yes, be a snowbird somewhere next winter, you will no doubt find new inspirations during winters or use that season for baking projects.
I can only imagine the stressful timelines and deadlines you set on yourself but ease up on yourself. You are loved. Love yourself by taking care now of you inner self. You, your loved ones and pets come FIRST not the internet...we will all understand. Take care.

Hi Christine! The email from Patreon said "Easter Tea Time" without a mention of the day or date so I thought it was today (Sunday, the 31st, Easter) and missed watching it live yesterday on Saturday! Just FYI for the future, if the emails could specify the date, that would be helpful! Thank you!

It’s about 2:17am on Sunday morning, and the “light up the room” story made me burst out laughing….yes, there are others in the house, but I’m quite sure they slept through it…the ghosts might have perked up and peaked into my room….

If you can carve a dragon into a sofa, you can do a kitchen. My husband and I , mostly me have made out own cabinets. The design has been completely done by me to closely mimic a 1930s kitchen.
