2022-12-05 02:33:51 +0000 UTCThis was so much fun to watch! I live in germany, but never have been to Switzerland or Italy before. This gives me some inspiration for future travels, where to stay at. Also Chistine if you ever happen to travel to Northern Italy again, one place I really want to visit is the "La Specola" in Florence. It has all those 17th-19th Century lifesize anatomical Art pieces. There is nothing like it. All of these works are completely made from wax and resin and hauntingly beautiful. Some of the old anatomical Italian Works are also found in Wienna in the "Josephinum". A former colleague of me works there now. Just a little tip if you ever happen to travel there again :)

2022-08-24 12:33:20 +0000 UTCOh my goodness, what a beautiful, elegant and breathtaking trip and how wonderful you got to spend it with your Mum. Each and every hotel you visited was just full of history and amazing architecture-my idea of a dream holiday. I'd love to visit Venice and Switzerland in the future and I will definitely be visiting the Murano glass factory. When you panned to the chandelier/sconce of Medusa I literally gasped! I'm sure if it weren't so elaborate and intricate you would have gotten something, on a smaller scale perhaps, shipped as well but I imagine it would be a logistical nightmare to do so. I'm looking forward to seeing the stemware you bought-how utterly perfect it will look on your table. With regards to your visit to London the mode of transport you and Mum took is called a tuktuk and they are some of the most knowledgable people to visit less well known places of interest around London. You may also have seen some of the themed tuktuks with the drivers singing and encouraging their passengers to as well. I hope, in future, you make it to Scotland for a visit as I'm sure we have so many beautiful places of interest and historical hotels you'd find to your taste. Absolutely wonderful episode and so nice to see your Mum enjoying every minute too x

I highly recommend you check out the book “Infinite Variety” about the Marchesa Casati who during her time was the most depicted woman in art after the Madonna. She threw insane balls at her Mansion in Venice (now the Peggy Guggenheim museum). She had an automaton of a Jaguar (which inspired cartier) and would put belladonna in her eyes so make them dilated enhancing her extreme appearance! Definitely check it out 🖤🖤🖤🖤

I think more people would lean into this type of diet if it didn't seem SO restrictive and inflexible. A lot of people doing a good job most of the time is better than a few people doing a perfect job when it comes to sustainability!

It's my dad's hometown and I used to go to that hotel a couple of times a month just to sit and have coffee and cake. She's 73 and is grouchy about doing "new things" so I'm lucky if we can do a local shopping day together once in a while :) (my hubby and I live nearby her). Claude Monet once said something about Venice that rings true per this footage and per my memory: "It is too beautiful to be painted! It is untranslatable!" I first went to Europe in my early 20s, and I'm in my late 30's now.. I have health issues, and this inspires me to continue to address those more fully so I can have a fuller life and take on adventures like getting back to Europe someday! As a side note it's also a joy to see a seemingly really wonderful person, who has worked extremely hard for all her successes enjoy that success. Your success is extremely well earned Christine-hope you know!

The flip side is having had the non-vegan treat in question, you have to go home and veganize it. And in your case, if you're willing, share it with your viewers, thereby saving us the trouble!
