In an ideal world, yes. This is no different from having to play the panel lottery on a 600 EUR IPS monitor, or from that 3500 EUR one with the loud fan (PG32UQX, I believe, lol). The thing is, manufacturers have little incentive to provide impeccable products, as there isn't enough real competition with these cutting-edge panels due to the complexity of the manufacturing process. If it were to appear, then I'm sure they would shape up right away. In the meantime, their products are selling just fine. To add to that, you can't effectively vote with your wallet, since consumer monitors are likely a relatively small part of their overall revenue. Same reason NVIDIA keeps getting away with their shenanigans.
On the bright side, the monitor market has really picked up pace in the last few years, compared to the stagnation in innovation that came before. Also, reading through LG's response, which admittedly is sprinkled with a healthy dose of corpo speak, at least they are admitting there is an issue and (allegedly) working on it. Hopefully that gets fixed by the time the RGB-stripe panels hit the market.
In any case, each current monitor technology has its drawbacks and it's up to the consumers to decide which their own dealbreakers are. They can't decide correctly if no one talks about these issues though. This is why articles like this and the VRR flicker one are so important. Thanks, Simon!

Completely unacceptable. Consumers need to start sanding up for theirselves at some point and manufacture will stop trying to sell defective products to us. Defective in both design and application. Known to be defective by the manufacture , reviewers. Who have a responsibility to notify the public. And known by early adopters. Design is inherently flawed. Manufacturing process is flawed. And product is flawed. How anyone tries to justify or rationalize it as an acceptable value, quality or standard of product is actually insane. It’s off from clear. Rational. Logical thinking. 🤷🏼♂️
