An update and new content coming soon
Added 2025-08-07 15:30:47 +0000 UTCHi everyone. You may have noticed we've been a little quieter than usual over the last couple of months, especially with reviews. I've been out of the country on an extended trip so that's made it difficult to produce anything new for a while, although we've been keeping the site updated with news, as well as some new articles as best we can during that time.
In case you missed them here are some new articles from the last month or two:
Now that I am back, we'll be catching up on various reviews we've got lined up, as well as attending Gamescom 2025 in a couple of weeks' time. I'm expecting to see some exciting new launches and announcements at Gamescom from various manufacturers, so we'll bring you all the latest news and coverage from the event.
We should also be receiving the new MSI MAG 272QP X50 QD-OLED monitor with 500Hz refresh rate very soon, so will get a review of that completed, including having a look at the new brighter QD-OLED panel (TB 500 certified), and MSI's new "EOTF Boost" HDR mode they've added to try and tackle challenges with the Peak 1000 mode. Stay tuned for that review soon.
We're currently lining up various other things for Q3, so I'll update you all soon when we've got more info to share. Expect a much busier TFTCentral now that I'm back :)

2025-08-12 10:10:26 +0000 UTCyeah that's always a tricky one. The AR coating on the QD-OLED panels is pretty good though, I have a window right behind me in my office and don't find reflections too much of an issue on those panels. It's hard to know until you try one though in your environment.

2025-08-07 15:52:11 +0000 UTCSounds great :-) Hadn't noticed the QD-OLED FAQ before so that was interesting, it is a shame that there is so little from Samsung about the raised black level issue at this point. A number of UK retailers currently have the 272URX for £700 which seems like a great price and I'm very tempted to take advantage! But the room my monitor is in can get fairly bright during the day (~180 lux with blinds closed) and when I tried putting my glossy HP laptop up in the same position as my monitor I found I was distracted a lot by reflections. Makes me worry that a QD-OLED would be a mistake - I currently have the LG 27GR95QE which handles reflections really well
