Before you ask, no, isn’t weird for Bastoro asking to another bull if they’re related. In a fantasy world with so many sentient species coexisting, the single species can’t count that many individuals.

And having only one functionally-hermaphrodite gender does make the continuation of the species quite easier. You have such a small amount of potential partners to choose, let alone all the class incompatibilities, that at least you don’t have to bother if they have a womb to impregnate or vice-versa. Right?

Back to Bastoro, it’s not weird either to find him so cautious and well mannered. He’s a lawful-good character. He’s spontaneously submissive towards figures of authority like his king or the elder ones.

Ok! I don’t want to get Kimba the White Lion white-superiority tropes here. Isn’t being white that makes Kamhe peculiar, but being all-white. If you go back to the page where you choose Bastoro’s fur color, the white option wasn’t monochromatic. Because in this world a bull with a homogenous coat (black, red, brown, it doesn’t matter) is a product of selective breeding. A quite controversial subject even there.

Even the three-fingered hands. Being the bulls a family with a strong military tradition, that trait was bred as well to obtain warriors with stronger grips and less likely to have them cut away in battle.

But if you were a bull with three fingers and a thing for playing the flute or the violin or any other instrument that isn’t a drum, a life of frustration would have awaited you.
