Draft Design for the New UI - Feedback needed!

Hey everyone!

For the last couple of weeks I've been working on the new design for the UI in Homegrown and I'd love to know your thoughts! Visual design has always been a bit of a weakness of mine so it's been quite a slow process. I've taken a lot of inspiration from multiple other games and iterated over and over on my design until finally I've ended up with something that I think has some promise. The problem is I've been staring at it constantly for so many days that I've lost all ability to look at it objectively, so I need the help of some fresh eyes!

So if you have the chance, please let me know what you think about the new design. You can either let me know here or shoot me an email at thinmatrix@gmail.com. Don't worry too much about the specific content of the UI - it's just about the style, layout and colours for now. The actual icons are mostly placeholders and some don't even make sense (e.g. the T-shirt button is going to be for the inventory!)

These new designs haven't been implemented in the game yet - they're just images that I photoshopped together. I wanted to gather some feedback before I start the implementation process next week.

This is the basic UI layout when no panels are open. The inventory has moved to the bottom of the screen instead of being on the left. The button to the left (currently with the T-shirt icon) will open up the extended inventory which will replace the house storage. The buttons to the right of the hot-bar allow you to toggle between object examining and terrain tile examining. The top right button takes you to the town area like usual. 

Here's an example stats panel for when you examine an item. The panel for examining objects and terrain in the world will look similar to this.
