a small hello!! just a chat to catch-up

Hi y'all!! I hope you're well~~ Here's a little video just to say hi and catch-up with y'all on what's going on in my little world. I'm adding a new Patreon tier (!!!!) and finally getting started on fixing up the studio proper. Now I just need plants >:0 What plants would be good for a room with a north and east facing window?? I'd love for them to be as easy to care for as possible, as I've only ever kept one plant alive (and it's a peperomia, for reference!)

I hope you're doing alright!! Please let me know how you've been and what you've been up to╰(*´︶`*)╯I hope you had a wonderful weekend ♡

Devils ivy are really beautiful (sounds scary but not) and grow well in my room with lots of light! Also a little monstera and and PEACE LILY 100% they are perfect indoor plants

Charlotte Elise

i may need to start adding that in my intros....

The best decision I made was to join your Patreon because I was missing your wholesome YouTube videos! Honestly your videos are the most comforting and relaxing content ever, and I'm so thankful to have found your channel! P.S. Don't you think Cheyenne's videos need to come with a disclaimer like *Please have your cup of tea ready before you start watching*?? Or is it just me...?

I’m so glad you’re feeling better!!

dont be afraid to get all kinds of plants and add a grow light! they really help w supplemental lighting where u might be lacking. :) i recommend a zz plant or snake plant as a low water plant! and for specific low light plants, i love the heart leaf philodendron & scindapis pictus which are both very easy to care for and find :) try to avoid ivy as a beginner bc they need high light, lots of water and are susceptible to pest! & to avoid too many gnats u can bottom water ur plants (just be sure to top it water occasionally to flush excess minerals) remember not to repot ur plants too soon once u get them! let then acclimate to ur environment. & always make sure u have drainage holes in ur pot! u can always put the nursery pot in a pretty pot :)

Eeee my apartment is north and east! I have a jade, 2 mini monsteras, and a bunch of pothos like the dangly ones and a spider plant that are happy in the main part of my apartment which is north facing, my fiddle leaf fig is happy in my bathroom which is east, and my peace lily is happy in my bedroom which is in the corner so both north and east but she’s like in the corner so she doesn’t get hit directly and turn brown 🥰 I have a plant problem 😅

So glad to hear you're feeling better! I'm super excited for the new patreon tier! :) When it comes to plants, I highly recommend spider plants. They're easy to take care of as long as they get some direct sunlight, mine has survived 3 of my depressive episodes and is still kickin!

featherpen73

You should get a zz plant!! They can survive anything and grow to be big and lush

Olivia Cobb

By the way! It’s totally relatable for me, my voice in my head telling me I need to do more or being mad about it to myself . Once I recognize it I keep surprising myself how often I do it and keep reminding myself to be kind 🙈

Manon

Can I just say that you are GLOWING!? So happy to see you feeling better, I hope things continue looking up for you 💖 In terms of plants, you really can't go wrong with a snake plant. They're SUPER hardy, and apparently are air purifiers?? They're a win-win

Marissa Carroll Wright

Every time you talk about your meds and mental health it reminds me to check in on my own, thank you for being so open about this topic!! Sending love!

Sabrina Edelen

Yaaaas whashi tape photo/illustration walls are so nice 😊😊😊

Manon

yes you do! once i publish the new tier, i think you should just be able to move your pledge down, and you should hopefully get refunded the difference...if that doesn't happen, i'll be sure to refund y'all the additional cost so you don't have to pay an additional $15 for this month~

cheyenne 🌠

ooooh that's so cool!!

cheyenne 🌠

love YOU mucho!! it seems pothos and snake plants are gonna be a good place to start...i might make a trip to a nursery tomorrow :3

cheyenne 🌠

pothos! they don't like too much light and tolerate varied amounts of water, and grow into giant jungly vines, they're wonderful

aero vero

thanks for sharing your time with us! I'm v happy to see you giving yourself room to prepare + taking time to work through things for yourself while keeping us patrons in your thoughts! (that pink frame behind you is to die for!!) any plants that enjoy light will do well near the east windows for some juicy morning light! I have plenty philodendrons, hoyas, and even my fiddle leaf figs that enjoy a sunny windowsill. Snake plants, zz, or pothos do quite well by northern windows~ I'm rooting for you and your peperomia plant!! Love you many 💖

Radhia Rahman

Red vein or red nerve plants are awesome. They tell you when they need water by going limp. But that doesn't mean they are dead. When they go limp I give them water and an hour later they are looking beautiful again. So they are super easy to care for since they communicate with you.

Megan Bentley

So glad you're doing well Chey! And I'm excited for all the good things to come. My studio is also north facing and I have a spider plant and a Boston fern that are doing GREAT here.

Christine

Very excited about the new tier! I've found that a lot of plants do ok in North facing windows if they're right up on the window sill getting as much light as they can. In particular, I know my zz plant and heart leaf philodendrons have done pretty well in the North and East windows in my house! I've even kept a monstera in the North window of my house and it still grew a lot! :)

Sonia

So exciting 😊 I hope this patreon shuffle around works for you too Chey, and isn't too much on your plate and something you can enjoy too . Do we have to do anything our end ? Do we have to unsubscribe from the $20 and then re sub to the new $15?

Rosie Clow

Ooh the new tier sounds so fun! So glad you're doing well and figuring out how to embrace having limits. I'm doing pretty good, I get vaccinated tomorrow! And I really enjoy my cake decorating job I got in November.

Tessa Maye

Omg I’m so excited to upgrade my tier to the physical rewards one! I’m doing pretty good. I also had my therapy appointment today which went well. I’m thinking about planting some chives cause I recently thrifted this cute frog planter. Some fun studio decor would to hang some pictures on twine! Also for frames it’s really relaxing to hot glue a bunch of Pompoms in different colors onto the frames. It makes them look plush and puffy and you can get creative with colors and different sizes.

Nadia

Thank you for the happy little chat, I really needed that. I'm so excited about the new patreon tier! Also, as for plants, pothos is super easy to take care of and tolerates pretty much any light. The fancier varieties like njoy and marble queen tend to grow slower, but typical golden pothos grows super fast and looks gorgeous both hanging and on a windowsill!

Charlie

Rubber tree plant!! They're super resilient and can get big 😍

Birdie

I love my spiderplants, which, I dunno if I just got a hearty strain, but the ones I overwatered grew like weeds and the one I put on a high shelf because it got LORGE and regularly forget to water for three weeks at a time is also still kicking. Also, they purify the air, which is a bonus. (And, non-toxic for pets!)

Inny

I think a pothos could do really well in a studio space! they’re pretty low maintenance and very easy to propagate more of! <3

sable suns

OMG yes!! I was just thinking yesterday that I wished you had a physical rewards tier - I’m so down! And I’m sure it’ll be back the joy of packing and creating!

veronica porlier

If you have trouble remembering to water your plants or just figuring out how to care for many different types of plants, there is an app called GREG which I highly recommended! It has a bunch of cool features and can help you identify your plants and give you a curated watering schedule for each one and also learns with you as you use it to give you the best possible advice on care. It makes plant care as easy as notifications on your phone! Not sponsored😝 I just truly love that app. Does have a monthly/yearly fee if you have a lot of plants, but the first 5 plants are free! So if you only have a couple you wouldn’t have to pay

Megan Beretta

I will definitely be subscribing to the new tier 🥰🥰 so exited! Can’t wait to see your finished studio and what plants you go with!

Tennessee

A physical rewards tier sounds so exciting! Like people have already suggested, I highly recommend pothos! I'm not great at plant care but they are so resilient and also very easy to propagate if you ever want to get some baby plants from them! Also I know you haven't crocheted in a while but I've found some instructions online for some very cute crocheted star garlands that I think would go really nicely with your studio aesthetic!

Kathryn

I got a little baby monstera plant a month ago and it’s doing beautifully in my indirectly lit apartment! I just need to water it once a week so I do it every Tuesday which makes it easy to remember since it’s part of my week

Ashley Itliong

Here is my list of relatively easy to care for plants that don’t need high sun exposure! Sansevieria (snake plant) Pilea (Chinese money plant) Split leaf philodendrons Pothos (any type you like) Pink polka dot plant String of (pearls/bananas/dolphins/hearts) I have found there are a ton of plants that do great in moderate light, they just maybe grow a little slower than they would in a south facing window. Just don’t over water them and they are happy plants 🌱 😊

Megan Beretta

I just started getting into plants, I got a philodendron and it's quite easy, they just need sun and water once a week. She's still alive so far and it's been about a month. I don't know if you should take any advice from me, but I'm still giving some 😅

Léa Ponce

For easy to care for plants that will be at the studio (and not arounds pets, as some pets like to chomp: heat leaf philodendron (trailing, lovely, easy), snake plants (so many varieties (very low water, can tolerate low light), pothos (again easy to care for, trailing, fun varieties and variegations), dieffenbachia, and hoya (my personal favorite, as they can tolerate states of drought, they do thrive in brighter light, and eventually will produce flowers). I used to work at a plant nursery for 6 years. these should all be relatively easy to find at a nursery or to be shipped (pistil's in portland, or ships plants beautifully).

Bethany Kramer

Pothos are really good! I love my pothos! Super easy to take care of and propagate

Mariah Bolda

Snake plants always do well in indirect light and they’re super hardy! And obviously pothos!

Hope

im awful at thinkung abt sun placements for plants even tho i have so many but try an asparagus fern or maybe a snake plant? philodendrons and pothos are also safe bets

B Grace

i have absolutely no clue about plants but maybe like a monstera or a pathos??
