may tea time !!! (it's a podcast edition~)
Added 2020-06-25 04:34:16 +0000 UTCagain i’m SO SORRY this is actually a full month late, oh my gosh. what would y’all like to do for this month’s tea time? a livestream? a real time draw with me video? another q+a tea time? lemme know!! i love y’all and thank you so much for your patience!!
3:10 What has your experience been with people when you go out? Are people in your neighborhood+ respecting social distancing and other local guidelines?
9:54 You talk about wanting to build a cozy and comforting environment, lifestyle, and art. So, what are the top items and/or habits you have that help make that a reality?
11:47 What are your favourite "little-things" you notice about people?
15:08 how has Connor helped with your mental health and when did you decide it was time to get a therapist?
19:50 What things have you been doing during this quarantine too keep you sane?
21:02 Which games are you currently playing?
22:48 whats your favorite tea at the moment and any tips as to what the best teas are?
25:02 what you used to clean the UV resin in your clay video?
25:56 when you oven the clay, does it produce weird smell?
26:29 can you show us the pin and magnet you attached on the back of the clay?
- these are the pins i used, and these are the magnets!!
28:03 where would you go on a day where you could do anything?
29:43 what’s your opinion on internet cancel culture?
34:05 do you find that you have issues with toxicity on social media (especially instagram), or do you work to curate a healthier space within your community?
- realize i forgot to touch on instagram more with my answer! luckily, the only toxicity that i really find on instagram is a handful of accounts that "take inspiration" from my style when a lot of elements of their work are just blatantly traced from mine. :–) I once had a really prolific artist tell me that I had copied her little star character in creating a gif of my own star character, and she wrote me this long message like "you even color dropped the colors, this is incredibly hurtful. I can only hope no one hurts you like this, I pour my heart and soul into everything I create" and the fact of the matter was I had never seen her star character, and I had been drawing mine for several weeks. It was a shitty coincidence but I didn't know what to say, and so when I responded and was like "I think stylistically these are really different from each other, and the last thing I ever want to do is steal from another artist, but this is a character I've been drawing for a while and I swear I've never seen yours before. I don't know what you want me to do." And she never responded. And so even when I can see that someone is clearly tracing older works of mine and passing them off as their own, I get so nervous about confronting it that I just let it slide. It's shitty, and it's something I need to learn how to deal with. It's just hard to figure out where it stops being "inspired by" or "similar to" and starts to be a straight up rip-off.
40: 52 lastly, what are you most looking forward to when the world goes back to normal?
42:08 How do you feel about oxford commas, as an English teacher I am very passionate about them.
44:59 How are you feeling about your possible move to Europe? What would the process look like for you and Connor?
47:24 How is sophie? Pls kiss her beans for me and tell her she is magic!
48:08 Top 5 Animal crossing villagers!
52:23 What are your favorite acryla gouache colors?

59:15 What do you typically do to make a bad day better for yourself?
1:02:21 Do you still bullet journal?
1:03:20 are there any books or other content you love that you think would be great as a stage production? Or even just fun to be in?
1:11:21 What do you and maybe Connor think about the role of politics in ordinary citizens’ lives?
1:16:26 What is your favourite place or generally a favourite thing about Sweden?
1:20:30 is there anything special you plan to do for your bday? :)
1:22:39 (disordered eating warning) are there any methods you've found to make eating a much more peaceful and enjoyable experience?
1:32:09 What’s you favorite thing to cook? Is there a meal that you miss that you had often back home?
1:34:04 What would you say is the best/worst part about making vlogs?
1:36:07 Is there something that you noticed while in shelter in place that you find more appreciative?
1:37:48 From Connor’s tweets I’ve noticed that he’s learning programming. As a self studying programmer myself, I was wondering whether he would be open talking about his journey in a video? Have you had any experience with programming?
1:40:23 Any advice you might have around approaching imposter syndrome, or just simply making the business work.... would be just grand <
• i also realize i forgot to touch on imposter syndrome stuff!!! i'm still learning how to work through this myself...looking back on your previous body of work is useful just to remind yourself that you CAN INDEED MAKE THINGS which is very affirming in and of itself. doubt and worry is part of the process, and recognizing those feelings as passing instead of defining has helped me. trust in the process! you make good work!! being a working artist is really hard and strange!! i love you!!

Still listening, but girl-the heat intolerance I FEEL THAT!! You would think Colorado is way cooler but summers are torture and each day it's hot is another day I spend looking at apartments in Seattle trying to convince my boyfriend we can continue college there ha
