With the back of my hoops, I like to trim the excess fabric to about an inch bigger on the edges than the hoop, then hot glue a piece of felt the size of the hoop to that excess folded over the back. Then it not only hides the back but it prevents the hoop from potentially scratching the wall. Hope that made sense.
