Dev Update - August 22nd, 2018

Heya all! Vilsa here! We fixed up the weird bug on Patreon that garbled the end of our post last week, and we're back for another Development Update!

Jenna x Karen

Gear has been hard at work on CGs for the flashback scene introduced in 0.3 where Jenna and Karen have some wholesome lover moments. We're hoping to do something special with this CG, we'll see how it pans out as time goes on. Sorry for keeping this hush hush and teasing at it, but we don't wanna promise something and then need to go back on it.

We're in the coloring stage right now since I've given my last few nitpicks to Gear to make sure we're following the scene during the line art stage.

Super happy with how this one is turning out, take a look!

Story

I've been working hard on dialogue that will take us through the whole VR center sequence. The past few weeks have been very difficult for me in my personal life, but I'm pushing through as best I can to get this done for you guys to enjoy! Here's a little teaser for you guys.

Bugs

One of the incredibly interesting and not at all frustrating bugs is that we seem to have some logic problems with a lot of our cutscenes because of our updated Unity version. Apparently there were changes to how Timelines (the Unity feature that our cutscenes rely on) work. So we're working on fixing all these issues in time for 0.4.2 and 0.5.

Here's an example of a bug where this guy just doesn't seem to want to play his walking animation when he moves during a cutscene.

0.4.2

Speaking of 0.4.2, we are planning to put out a patch version called 0.4.2 hopefully before our public release of 0.4. This will include a lot of fixes that bearcore has been working on behind the scenes based on your bug reports and feedback. It will technically have some of 0.5's WIP story content in it, but the ability to reach that content will be disabled since it doesn't lead anywhere quite yet.

We've ran into some completely fascinating and not at all hair-pullingly aggravating issues with Playmaker and our update to Unity 2018 that basically break the entire game in Windows builds (but not WebGL builds), so we're working to fix that before 0.4.2 goes out, because we figure that people will appreciate having the ability to actually play the game.

(Do I sound salty yet? Been working on this issue for a while. :P)

That's all for this week! We'll see you guys next Wednesday for another Development Update! Thank you all for joining us on this wild ride. ♥
