Malevolent Planet 2D Alien Samples - Part One Release ($5+ Release)

Hello! Today is the scheduled day for Part One of the Alien Samples release! Because we have many upcoming changes, such as an update to the character artstyle and the four-directional chibi movement, the Samples Forager quest has been split into 3 parts, especially due to the fact that I am going on a 2-3 weeks break next week and I wouldn't want to leave a build behind that has the potential of breaking things.

From now on, released builds for Explorer and Scientists Tiers will be posted on the itch link you can access here. There are multiple reasons for this, but the easiest one to understand is that apparently the APK is too big now for Patreon attachments and instead of having multiple download URLs I think it'd be easier if you can see all of them in the same place on itch.

As a bonus, the WebGL version can be played on the same link without downloading anything.

(the SavesAlienSamples.zip contains saves I have been using and if you want to skip to the latest content you can replace your saves and load Save 7)

Changelog (Part One):

• 2 New Alien Scenes. Can be found when interacting with a certain element on the lakeshore when given the task of procuring samples.
• 2 New Evolving Scenes. Depending on your choice, the scenes that unfold when you inspect your crewmates can change slightly. I thought it was an interesting concept we can apply more frequently for immersion.
• Introduction of the Medical Room within the ship.
• Critical Inventory Rework. By disabling interaction with the inventory menu until the freeroaming stage begins, we can prevent many issues people had when playing the game.
• Performance Optimizations, bringing us 3 New Quality Settings that actually make a difference in the performance of the game. For full resolution, pick the highest quality setting.
• General Bugfixes. Including a bug that didn't let you finish final day at the isa and start the crashday plotline.
• Fixed a Critical Bug that would add so many items to your inventory that it wouldn't be able to equip new ones, instead, it will not add an item anymore to your inventory if you already have it before equipping it.
• Fixed an issue with the flow in the infected crewmate event where picking the right choices but latter would lead to the quest not finishing properly.
• Multiple New Dialogues.
• Changes to the ISA Garden Flow. You won't really notice this unless you play the game from the beginning.

You may notice when trying to gather samples in the forest that a dialogue will play telling you where to go to access the latest content. The reason for this is that there are 2 new animations being made, in addition to one new animation that plays out depending on whether you gather the samples correctly, and I also want to add a mini CG that plays out when your character is struck with something that increases her lust.

Unfortunately, there's obviously a gap in content because there's so much planned for the forest samples that it looks a bit "off" to get a dialogue telling you to go elsewhere if you want content, but there wasn't much I could do given the fact that I was very much limited by time this month.

Something I did invest some time into is make a full playthrough from beginning to the end, and I did notice some important bugs that I promptly fixed. This alone took all my day yesterday, but it was worth it I'd say.

Now as I'm writing this I am working on one of the animations that's supposed to be played in the forest, so rest assured that everything will be out including the new chibis, the new artstyle, the missing animations and CG, and the ending to the quest during Part Two & Part Three of the Alien Samples plot.
