Progress on the development of Malevolent Planet - 15th June 2020

This past week has been hectic, with the HDD dying and the release of the game on more websites. I took the time to consider the feedback given to the thread and in conclusion, I have to reconsider some structures I've used so far in detailing the scenes. Games like Corruption of Champions rely mainly on text with a lot of words for each scene. This is what I was going for, too, but it is not easy to reach that level of skill within such a short time. Nonetheless, I will take my time when writing future scenes. One user on f95zone stated that the protagonist needs more characterization, so since I assume that this is actually something many people want, then I should find ways to characterize the character. My main issue is whether to go back to the beginning of the game and introduce more events that lead to the player's departure to space, or rather to develop the character following the prologue/introduction through the LifeSim events/quests/interactions. 

The game also received more attention than I thought it would on itch.io, with 2000 browser plays in just one day and it was a bit overwhelming, but motivating as well.

Regardless of what's above, I will describe the updates the game has made since the last progression update below.

The next version introduces the character to characters within the village and later to the main financial district of the planet. The first one is the Village map, it will have its own screen and you'll be able to click areas marked with numbers to reach those areas. Shortly after the story development from the last chapter, you will be able to interact more with Likurieris by finding more about their world and culture, with the addition of quests and events depending on the area and time. 

The second one is the City map, progression through the game will allow you to explore more than just the village. There are a few other races, unmet so far, that reside within the city as it was not on the affected side of the planet. Of course, to reach this area you will need to upgrade some parts of your ship, and you'll be able to do so by gathering resources through quests.

 Below you can find the old version of the village, I decided to redraw it to make it look better when put next to the city map.
