I will start this series of updates after every successful day spent working on the game. Up top you can see a sketch of the village drawing I'm working on, the next scene includes the player's journey through the alien village and to make the writing more immersive I have also tried the design choice seen in the gif.
I had to choose between 3 design choices:
1. Either the player clicks the link then a new passage opens, which can lead to a low amount of text on each passage and make it seem a bit lackluster, with the added risk that the player may lose some details (I know from first-hand experience how easy it is to read a book and to forget what you've just read).
2. Either the player clicks the link then the same passage resets with updated text, which brings the disadvantages from above.
3. Either the player clicks the link, new text gets appended to the old text and even though there will be need of scrolling (I plan to integrate this https://www.w3schools.com/jsref/met_win_scrollby.asp to make the experience better on supported browsers) it will look better, in my mind at least. Also, when the player clicks the link, in case time actually passes it will actually pass.
Other than that, I have finished a portrait of the next character the player talks to, one of Melissa's crewmates as there will be an increased emphasis on this character.
As for the rest of my r34 drawings, I am working at the same time. I have listened to the feedback of a few players and I have taken steps to make future passages more detailed, without the feeling that action jumps from 0 to 100 in each passage.
I am taking more time to develop the game and I have a Trello to keep track of bugs and features.
Thank you and have a nice day!
