October - Updates, Ask ARA, Q+A

September was not the easiest month. Moving states, and hurricane sucked up a good bit of productivity for me... thankfully well past settled in by now and if you haven't noticed, the past week I've been actually pretty happy busting my art chops! I did, however, realize that I wasn't going to make the other request stream for September, nor the second comic page, something I really hate to admit falling behind on. 

So for October, I'll be aiming to do 4-8 additional requests, stream or not, in addition to the 2 usual streams, as warmups or such, posted throughout the month, like I did in August. Those were fun to do. And with my desk, chair, etc. all set up, no trips or conventions, the downtime should be nil.

I feel the need to keep all of you up to date because you wholly support me; I try to be as transparent as possible and open to new ideas and suggestions! Two things I shamefully admit that have been slacking are Ask ARA and tutorials, which have long since kind of been absent. I do want to get back into that, even if they are small tips and tricks.

As for Ask ARA, I'm going to keep trying this new method of answering in-post here, read on for details:

I'm going to take a pointer from the Dreamkeepers' Patreon and sort it into a Q+A type post each month, where you can pick a category to ask:

Artist Question: Questions for me, about art, plans, products, comics, etc. Anything to me directly, I'll try to discuss in this type of query.

World Question: Queries involving the world itself. How does FTL work, what kind of other animals are there, etc. These will be answered by either me, or a certain character depending on the category. 

Character Question: As it says, ones directed at specific characters, that I think they'd answer. Once I have all of the 'response artwork' that I want to make, at least for the main characters, I'd love to take the best questions from each month, put them into a small collective image with some of response art, and upload that to galleries, the blog, etc.

So if you have one, list it below and go ahead! This post will be checked on often throughout the month, and I'd like to draw a response or two from ones that might tickle my stylus.
