Chapter 530: Gifts and Extras

Charlot Mecklenburg said indifferently, “You attack my territory and try to steal my beloved. What else could we possibly have to discuss?”

Mocher hesitated before replying, “It was Avish and Monteblanc who had such thoughts of dividing your woman. Those who shared their ideas have already fled. The rest of us merely wish to settle on the Old Continent.”

Charlot smiled faintly and asked, “Settle, as in by attacking my territory?”

Mocher responded, “We are willing to serve you for five years.”

Charlot shrugged and replied, “Apologies! I cannot possibly trust you.”

“If those who fled return and urge you to conspire against me, what would you do? Would I be able to trust your loyalty?”

Charlot was awaiting the arrival of the Radiant Holy Kingdom, a legendary battleship. Without its presence, although he was confident he could defeat these Saint ranks and seize their fleet, there would inevitably be casualties among his forces. Charlot was unwilling to lose any of his Saint ranks.

Mocher asked, “What would it take for you to trust us?”

Charlot did not hesitate, “I don’t care about the others. All it requires is for you to make a small sacrifice.”

The Saint ranks behind Mocher murmured among themselves. Naturally, they hoped Mocher would agree. Mocher fell into contemplation, sensing the sentiments of his companions. They all wished for him to make the sacrifice—it was human nature. Mocher finally asked, “What sacrifice do I need to make?”

Charlot smiled faintly, pulling out a magical contract. “Sign this with me! But it’s not for five years. It’s for life.”

This magical contract was a trophy Charlot had obtained in his battle against Zimourman Axel Robin in the labyrinth. It was the perfect item for this situation.

Mocher’s expression immediately changed, and he was about to firmly refuse when a childish voice cried out excitedly, “Daddy!”

A small figure dashed out from nowhere and leapt into Charlot’s arms. Holding this unexpectedly affectionate daughter, Charlot couldn’t help but swallow nervously. In his heart, Emilia Mecklenburg’s danger level rivaled even the Radiant Holy Kingdom. Holding his daughter felt like holding a ticking nuclear bomb.

Mocher also gulped and swallowed the words of rejection he had prepared. Though he had the power to summon an evil god, Charlot was clearly already holding one in his arms. If he protested, Charlot would undoubtedly kill all of them without hesitation.

After a long period of deliberation, Mocher quietly asked, “Can I negotiate for some privileges?”

Charlot smiled faintly. “No problem.”

Both parties carefully discussed the terms of the magical contract. The Golden Ram Herolf and the Silverback Gorilla Choudrou watched enviously. When they had signed their contracts, it had been a rushed and confusing process. There were no such favorable conditions.

Mocher, unaware of this envy, ultimately signed his name on the magical contract. As soon as the contract was signed, it transformed into a beam of light that disappeared into the void, merging with the River of Fate.

Charlot glanced at the ships below and declared, “I’ll be taking these ships! Mocher, divide them into two groups. One will join the Imperial Rose Fleet, and the other will join the East Wind Fleet. Hmm, set aside the most beautiful magical alchemical battleship—I’ll be gifting it to Princess May.”

For those who had come to his aid, Charlot naturally had to show his gratitude. Unaware of Annie Mecklenburg’s arrangements, he decided to gift this remaining fleet.

One Saint rank protested, “If joining you means losing our ships, why should we join at all?”

Charlot gave him a cold glance and said to the void, “Yishemierlen, kill him.”

A kind-looking man stepped out of the void with a gentle smile. In an instant, his body transformed into a violent gale, grabbing the protesting Saint rank. Despite his desperate struggles, he couldn’t escape, and both figures disappeared into the air.

Charlot’s brutal demonstration left the Saint ranks speechless. They all understood it was punishment for their attack on the Mecklenburg Duchy. Charlot could choose to overlook their intentions, but he would never truly believe they were innocent.

After being delayed by Mocher and his group, Charlot realized Avish was out of reach. He said indifferently, “We’ll wait a few days in the open sea until Senior Menielman, Princess May, and Sophia Gallanord have all left. Then, we’ll return to Black Phoenix City.”

...

Several hours later, the Radiant Holy Kingdom arrived on the battlefield. When the Saint ranks from the New Continent boarded this legendary battleship, even Mocher couldn’t suppress his exclamation: “The nobles of the Old Continent… truly live extravagantly.”

Charlot’s delaying tactic worked effectively. Three days later, Princess May Guillaume’s Queen Bee passed through the area. Charlot quickly caught up and presented her with the finest magical alchemical battleship. The princess said nothing about his timely submission but was clearly in much better spirits after receiving the gift.

The next day, Sophia Gallanord’s fleet appeared. Charlot once again followed, gifting her three magical alchemical battleships and six ordinary vessels. When Sophia Gallanord interacted with Charlot privately, she said nothing, though her gaze was filled with deep emotions. Charlot could only sigh, knowing exactly what was on her mind but unwilling to complicate things further.

Finally, Menielman Soumet’s fleet arrived. Charlot handed over the remaining magical alchemical battleships and ships and “gifted” five Saint ranks.

Among them, three reluctantly parted with their ships as part of the gift. The other two, hearing of Menielman’s significant influence as the foremost leader of the Farsian Navy, voluntarily requested to “transfer” for better prospects. Though Charlot temporarily chose not to pursue their attack on the Mecklenburg Duchy, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t revisit the issue in the future. Aligning with Menielman seemed a safer bet.

Menielman accepted the ships and ranks with a serene smile and departed without unnecessary words.
