Chapter 505: Bringing Home a Few Evil Gods to Live a Domestic Life

He looked up to see his youngest daughter pointing into the air. Suspended there was Gareth Mecklenburg, his eldest son, thrashing desperately but as helpless as a fish out of water.
Charlot didn’t even have time to think about the newly acquired Demon of the Mirror, hurriedly shouting, “That’s your brother Gareth!”
Emilia gave Gareth a glance and asked, “Brother? Shouldn’t he be something more delicious? But Daddy, he looks so... lacking in nutrition!”
“You can’t eat him!” Charlot exclaimed. “You have to protect him!”
Reluctantly, Emilia agreed. “Fine, I’ll listen to Daddy.” She tossed Gareth onto the ship’s deck with disdain and said, “Brother, starting today, you’re the steward of this ship. Manage the Emilia properly!”
Gareth gasped for air. He had originally climbed aboard the Yishemierlen Palace to secretly lend a hand. Who could have imagined that the evil god’s palace would suddenly change hands, and its new owner...
Was terrifying beyond words!
Standing at the bow of the ship, Emilia gazed far off toward the Radiant Holy Kingdom and her eyes sparkled as she pointed at an empty patch of air. “Daddy! That brother looks delicious. Can I eat him?”
The diary tucked in Charlot’s arms trembled violently. He pulled it out to find a line of words emerging on the page of the Radiant Holy Kingdom’s Navigation Log:
“Daddy! Don’t let Emilia eat me! If she does, she’ll turn into something else.”
Charlot wiped the sweat from his brow as it flowed like a stream. What kind of evil god family was this? His youngest daughter wanted to eat her two brothers?
Granted, neither of them came from “conventional” origins, but still, they weren’t food!
Amon had warned him: if Emilia ate him, she’d turn into something else entirely. Charlot believed this to some degree. Emilia was already extraordinary—she could hold off Yishemierlen’s Trident, an evil god’s weapon, with just a finger. After swallowing the Yishemierlen Palace, her power had undoubtedly grown. If she consumed the Radiant Holy Kingdom...
Charlot dared not imagine what she might become. She might even evolve into some monstrous great evil god.
“She’s your brother!” Charlot said hastily. “You can’t eat him! You must protect him—just as your brothers Amon and Gareth will protect you.”
Emilia tilted her head, considering. “Brother Gareth is useless! And Brother Amon wants to eat me. They don’t love me, Daddy. You’re biased!”
Charlot froze in shock. A typical accusation of favoritism might hurt a child’s feelings, but in his case, it might bring about a catastrophe—a “Nezha” situation.
Not that Nezha was inherently terrifying; it was the patricidal tendencies that were nerve-wracking.
Suppressing his anxiety, Charlot patiently explained, “Daddy isn’t biased. You’re all my beloved children, and I hope you can love each other forever.”
Emilia raised her small hand high. “Daddy, make my brothers swear never to hurt me and always to protect me. Then I’ll believe you.”
“Otherwise...”
“Brother Gareth can live because he’s no threat to me. But Brother Amon will not survive.”
Charlot fully believed her. If given the chance, Amon would indeed devour Emilia. Both siblings were bizarrely dangerous. He could only turn to Amon and ask, “Could you swear an oath?”
At some point, Amon had appeared beside Charlot, clutching his coat and trembling uncontrollably. He murmured in a low, fearful voice, “Oh you who traverse the River of Fate, who understand all mysteries, who govern the Extraordinary Rituals, and who are the master of the Court of Destiny! I, Amon Mecklenburg, vow never to harm my sister Emilia Mecklenburg and to love and protect her always. By Father’s name, I also request twenty-five shares of joy from the Serpent of Fate and humbly ask for its protection, so that I will never be harmed by Emilia...”
Amon’s lips quivered, on the verge of tears. Charlot was also near tears, as he sensed the Serpent of Fate accepting Amon’s plea. Charlot had recently borrowed twenty shares of fate’s joy from the Serpent and now, thanks to Amon, owed an additional twenty-five.
“How am I supposed to repay this?” Charlot thought bitterly. “Should I just offer Amon to the Serpent of Fate as a sacrifice to clear my debt?”
After Amon swore the oath, Emilia no longer paid him any attention. She bounced and danced joyfully on the newly renamed Emilia, thoroughly enjoying herself.
Having resolved the crisis of “siblings devouring each other,” Charlot wiped the sweat streaming from his forehead and finally had the leisure to examine his newly acquired Demon of the Mirror.
The Demon of the Mirror could transform any creature into a similar being, turning them into helpers often referred to as “stewards of the Infinite Mirror World.”
Charlot had only tried it casually and hadn’t expected it to work!
However, after Emilia took over the Yishemierlen Palace, the evil god’s strength plummeted, leaving it unable to maintain its power as a true evil god. Now, it was nothing more than an ordinary Saint-rank steward!
Admittedly, it was slightly stronger than the Golden Ram Herolf, probably around the twenty-fourth rank.
But it had a glaring flaw—it had already died once. Its soul and memories were fragmented, with barely anything remaining. Now, it was little more than a dim-witted creature. Any command from Charlot that was slightly complex would leave it bewildered, its intelligence somewhere between that of a corgi and a border collie.
This was infuriating.
Charlot was still studying this dim-witted steward of the Infinite Mirror World when a familiar voice rang out.
Juno Arthur descended gracefully from the sky, smiling. “Charlot, how does it feel to have a new daughter?”
Charlot, recalling how Juno had previously advised him against keeping the child, couldn’t resist saying, “Teacher, last time you told me I shouldn’t have this child.”
Juno shrugged nonchalantly. “That was then; this is now. You were out of options against Yishemierlen, weren’t you? Letting Emilia be born wasn’t a bad choice. As for the new problems she’s brought... well, we’ll figure out a solution eventually.”
“Though, admittedly, it won’t be easy.”
“I still don’t fully understand what Emilia is, or how she exists in this form.”
“She’s not an evil god?” Charlot asked softly.
Juno shook his head. “She probably is.”
“Probably?” Charlot was stunned. “Does that mean there’s a chance she isn’t?”
Juno patted his shoulder. “It’s possible she’s something... worse.”
Charlot glanced at the Emilia ship and suddenly felt as though he hadn’t come to challenge the evil god Agmirlas. Instead, he had come to bring a few evil gods home to live a domestic life...
What kind of twisted evil god sitcom was this?
