Chapter 475: Charlot, I Am Proud of You, and Amon Is Too

He had consecutively destroyed eighteen ghost ships and even killed three saint-rank ghost crew members. Though these crew members lacked the full power they had in life, retaining only some characteristics of the saint rank, Charlot suddenly sensed a subtle change within his power—a new Blood Rune from the Adonis Clan had formed within him.
When Charlot first encountered Blood Glory, he focused most on the power of the Adonis Clan, mastering techniques like Bloodflame Aura, Bloodfire Transfiguration, Flame Dragon’s Hand, Flame Dragon’s Roaring Bullet, and the Demonflame Horse, condensing five Blood Runes. Later, however, he shifted his focus to the power of the Arthur Clan and more recently devoted himself to the secret arts of the Van Gogh and Arsilo Clans, leaving the Adonis Clan’s techniques somewhat neglected.
Now, this newly-formed Blood Rune granted Charlot a unique extraordinary ability—the Bloodflame Magic Rifle.
This ability allowed him to manifest a transcendent firearm purely from blood energy. The Adonis Clan, one of the six royal vampire clans, specialized in mid-to-long-range combat combined with control tactics, though their firearms combat was second only to the Arsilo Clan.
The Adonis Clan had two signature abilities designed for firearms combat: the Flame Dragon’s Roaring Bullet and the Bloodflame Magic Rifle. Charlot had never undergone formal combat training from the Adonis Clan, but under Juno Arthur's tutelage, his marksmanship was already first-rate. However, neither the Flame Dragon’s Roaring Bullet nor the Bloodflame Magic Rifle could significantly affect high-level battles, especially against threats like ghost ships.
With a tinge of regret, Charlot decided against using the Bloodflame Magic Rifle and instead relied on his Flame Combat Energy Knight’s Lance to obliterate his foes.
...
Suddenly, a towering figure appeared and roared fiercely before delivering a devastating punch. Relying on his Eye of Insight, Charlot gauged the attack’s power and chose to evade gracefully rather than block it directly. He knew that while he could impale this enemy with a single thrust, it would cost him a serious injury in return. Trading blows with a ghost crew member was not worth the risk.
Seeing the enemy, Charlot murmured in surprise, “An orc as a sailor?”
It was indeed a massive orc—most likely an elephantman like Argon. Although dead, the creature’s body remained intact, and its Bloodfire Combat Energy was dense and solid, showing no signs of decline.
Charlot drew his Red Viper alchemical pistol and fired seven or eight shots. The blood energy bullets struck the ghost elephantman, causing ripples but failing to penetrate its Bloodfire Combat Energy, which shielded it from harm.
With a deafening roar, the ghost elephantman charged toward Charlot in great strides.
If Charlot had a choice, he would have retreated to a safer distance and used firearms to resolve the battle. However, his earlier attempts had already revealed that this opponent was no ordinary saint rank; in life, it had likely been a formidable high-tier saint, retaining immense power even in death.
Charlot leaped forcefully off the ghost ship, avoiding further confrontation. Before he could choose a new target, he felt something tug sharply at him, pulling him back onto the Radiant Holy Kingdom.
In this mysterious space, the Radiant Holy Kingdom resembled an enormous palace, emitting a soft glow that swept across the sky. Whenever it approached the Yishemierlen Palace, even slight friction between the two structures created cataclysmic pressure.
It felt like witnessing planets collide, or the South Heavenly Gate clashing with the Sumeru Mountain.
Eumibella shouted excitedly, “Charlot, you’re incredible!”
“That was an amazing fight!”
“I’m proud of you, and Amon is proud of you too.”
Dabachiro appeared out of nowhere with a wreath in hand, beaming as she placed it on Charlot’s head. Charlot immediately removed it, feeling it writhing and screaming in his grasp. To his bewilderment, no one else seemed to notice its strange behavior.
Hastily, Charlot discarded the wreath. Dabachiro didn’t seem to mind, maintaining her regal demeanor as an elven queen. Meanwhile, Amon gestured silently at Charlot with a strange hand signal. The other two, however, remained indifferent. The sea serpent queen Posugi lounged lazily, while the Whale King devoured something eerily familiar—it was the ghost elephantman Charlot had just battled.
The elephantman struggled feebly but was swallowed whole by the plump, voluptuous woman without even being chewed.
Charlot pondered whether he should mourn for the ghost elephantman. Despite their evenly-matched fight, it had been reduced to a mere snack for an evil god—unceremoniously gulped down without appreciation.
He asked quietly, “Can I leave now?”
Eumibella shrieked, “How could you?”
“How could you leave us?”
“Amon, your father wants to abandon us!”
Amon looked helpless but gestured again to Charlot, pointing toward an odd rift. Without hesitation, Charlot dove through it.
The next moment, he was back on the Radiant Holy Kingdom, surrounded by the same chaotic battle. Juno Arthur, standing nearby, wore a faintly peculiar expression.
Charlot asked, “Teacher, what just happened to me?”
Juno replied, “You were called for a chat by some evil gods. Don’t you remember?”
Charlot said sheepishly, “What was I like while I was there?”
Juno said, “I didn’t notice any changes in you—your words and actions seemed normal. If I hadn’t also glimpsed that realm, I wouldn’t have realized anything at all.”
Charlot asked nervously, “What should I do? What if I get pulled there again and can’t return?”
Juno shrugged. “I’ve suggested tossing this ship away.”
“But you won’t take that advice.”
“Even though it’s the only correct choice.”
Charlot sighed deeply. He knew Juno was right—abandoning the Radiant Holy Kingdom was the wisest course of action. But letting go of such a legendary warship was unthinkable.
Looking out at the sea, Charlot saw the Radiant Holy Kingdom locked in fierce combat with the ghost ships. His fleet had long since disappeared from view. Charlot asked, “Shall we keep fighting?”
Juno said, “You probably have no other choice.”
“I tried to break the maze’s power earlier, but I couldn’t. Unless we gain a decisive advantage, there’s no way to escape.”
“This maze is peculiar. I’m certain the next one won’t be as formidable.”
Charlot gazed at the distant, floating Yishemierlen Palace and suddenly said, “What if we directly confront that palace?”
