Chapter 473: The Second Labyrinth, Yishemierlen Palace

Charlot Mecklenburg stood in the captain's cabin of the Radiant Holy Kingdom, his mind inundated with countless clamoring thoughts. He momentarily set these aside, gazing out over the endless ghost fleet on the ocean and the slowly advancing palace on the sea. A vague sense of unease settled in his chest.

"If challenging an Evil God means facing this level of opposition every time, how could anyone possibly succeed?"

"Then again, it’s true—I haven’t heard of anyone succeeding."

"After all, this isn’t a game designed to be won. No matter how challenging a game is, the creator usually leaves some way to win."

"Wait a minute... Are there more ghost ships now?"

"Could the Aggras Sea have seen so many ghost ships sink?"

As Charlot pondered, a thread of thought emanated from the diary he carried: Charlot Mecklenburg shall now challenge the second labyrinth—Yishemierlen Palace! It is a fragment of the fallen Evil God, Yishemierlen, seized and transformed into the second labyrinth controlled by Agmirlas.

Charlot had never heard of this particular Evil God. Despite his extensive research into countless records to rid himself of the Evil God’s Descent buff, he found no trace of Yishemierlen. Judging from the grand scale of the ghost fleet, Charlot speculated that this Evil God's domain must be related to death.

Hmm, a Death-aligned Evil God who ended up dead himself…

What kind of absurd Evil God joke is this?

The naval battle had already stretched on for several hours.

Though Charlot’s side boasted three legendary battleships and seven magical alchemical warships, which had already sunk hundreds of ghost ships, the sea was still densely packed with them. Even more unnervingly, ghost ships continued to rise one after another from beneath the waves.

Charlot couldn’t see how victory could be achieved if this battle continued indefinitely.

The Yishemierlen Palace, though capable of slow movement, had not directly engaged in the battle. It had caused some initial panic, but Charlot’s Saint-ranked crew members, relying on the speed of their magical alchemical warships, successfully avoided the floating palace, which seemed terrifying but had yet to inflict any damage.

Golden Ram Herolf, with his wealth of experience, constantly reminded the fleet to maintain a safe distance. Other Saint ranks noticed that the surrounding sea had begun to take on a labyrinthine nature, likely tied to the enormous ghost fleet. Straying too far from the fleet risked being obscured by the maze’s forces.

Fortunately, each magical alchemical warship had a Saint rank on board. At critical moments, these experts disrupted the labyrinth’s power, ensuring the fleet remained intact.

Charlot calculated their ammunition reserves and decisively ordered a retreat.

Despite their strength, the magical alchemical warships relied heavily on their costly alchemical cannons. Every shell fired represented an exorbitant expense. Continuing to battle the seemingly endless ghost ships was unsustainable.

Once Charlot gave the order, Juno Arthur acted promptly. Employing a powerful bloodline prophecy spell from the vampire arts, she cleared a path for the fleet to retreat in formation.

Although the ghost fleet pursued them several times and even attempted to manipulate spatial directions through labyrinth magic to trap the fleet, the sheer strength of Charlot’s forces thwarted these efforts. Saint ranks repeatedly broke through the labyrinth’s power, allowing the fleet to successfully disengage.

Charlot then ordered the remaining ships to form a defensive formation and turned to Juno. “Teacher, let’s take the Radiant Holy Kingdom in alone.”

Juno smiled faintly. “Very well.”

The ghost fleet was far too numerous. Magical alchemical warships might be able to sink a few ships but couldn’t achieve a decisive victory, only wasting ammunition. While Saint ranks could attack, even they would tire eventually, as they weren’t perpetual motion machines.

Charlot had no intention of needlessly sacrificing his fleet in this battle.

But the Radiant Holy Kingdom was a different matter. This legendary warship was far too strange and entirely unafraid of ghost ships.

Charlot left the remaining magical alchemical warships, including the Dolmabahçe and the Swan Lake, behind and piloted the Radiant Holy Kingdom straight into the ghost fleet.

This time, Juno refrained from taking action, knowing Charlot had his own plans.

Soon, two ghost ships approached the Radiant Holy Kingdom from either side. The legendary warship’s hull suddenly split open, revealing massive maws made of twisted branches, shattered wood, and ship planks. These jaws clamped down on the ghost ships, crunching and devouring them.

Even Charlot hadn’t expected this development. Juno couldn’t help but remark, “Compared to the Labyrinth God’s creations, this Radiant Holy Kingdom is far more ominous.”

Charlot attempted to communicate with Amon, and the ship’s Logbook of the Radiant Holy Kingdom responded:

Father, Daporchilodo was hungry just now. Should I stop her? I’m not strong enough to restrain her on my own and would need Mother’s help. But she’s a bit unstable at the moment.

Charlot replied, “No need to worry about the Ancient Gomodoro Tree for now. What’s wrong with Eumibella?”

The logbook’s text appeared again:

I’m not sure. I’m very worried about Mother. It seems... she’s pregnant again!

Charlot was taken aback. He had some understanding of Eumibella, and her pregnancy was by no means a normal phenomenon!

Although Amon appeared calm and rational, Charlot knew that this entity wasn’t truly alive. From existence to structure, it defied reason entirely.

Charlot mulled over the situation for a long while before asking Juno, “Teacher, what should we do about Eumibella being pregnant?”

Juno was equally startled. “I suspected she had undergone some new mutation, but pregnancy…”

Charlot quickly added, “It definitely wasn’t me!”

Juno fell silent for a moment, then said quietly, “It might actually have been you.”

Charlot was dumbfounded. “Teacher! My... proportions don’t even match with that kind of divine entity!”

Juno sighed. “But you’ve had the most contact with her.”

“Eumibella isn’t an ordinary woman. To conceive a new life, she doesn’t need the same process as humans.”

“Well, don’t feel bad if you don’t understand. I don’t either.”

“Either way, this child cannot be allowed to come into being.”

Charlot was on the verge of tears. He didn’t want this responsibility either!

But the real question was: could he even stop it?

At that moment, five or six more ghost ships collided with the Radiant Holy Kingdom. The ship’s hull split open once more, revealing several enormous maws that extended countless tendrils and branches, dragging the ghost ships inside to be devoured.

Herolf, Aspuros, Golden Ram Herolf, Choudrou, Argon, Gareth Mecklenburg, Andreas Constantine, Viggo, Drusineia, and the others watched as the Radiant Holy Kingdom plunged into the ghost fleet. Dense mist rapidly enveloped the scene, and moments later, everything vanished.

The Radiant Holy Kingdom, the ghost fleet, and the slowly advancing Yishemierlen Palace all disappeared without a trace.
