Chapter 457: Such a Kind Divine Being in the World

Charlot replied, “Naturally, by ship!”
The elderly female blue giant grew instantly excited, exclaiming, “A ship! You actually have a ship?”
She closed her eyes, visibly moved, as the massive tree on her head suddenly began to radiate light, releasing countless feathery glimmers.
Charlot extended his hand, and a faint light merged into his palm. In that instant, he heard a voice, though it was brief and unclear. With a slight stir in his heart, he deployed his Flame Dragon’s Hands, expanding them to the size of a bed. Sure enough, the feathery lights descended upon them, and this time he heard a complete message: “Friends of vampires and humans! Welcome! Please, help us lead the Blue Sky Tribe away from this island…”
Charlot’s heart was stirred. He whispered softly, “Are you the Ancient Gomodoro Tree?”
“I am likely the last Ancient Gomodoro Tree in the world.”
“My kindred were all felled by the people of the Sherlock Dynasty to build legendary warships.”
“If you are willing to take the Blue Sky Tribe away, I will offer my trunk as material for crafting a legendary warship.”
Charlot was astonished. He had not expected to encounter such a kind-hearted… divine being!
He could be certain now: this living Ancient Gomodoro Tree was undoubtedly a divine being.
Before Charlot could respond, a malevolent presence surged in, overwhelming and oppressive. Looking skyward, he saw a swarm of black insect clouds sweeping across. These insect clouds were eerily familiar, prompting Charlot to cry out in alarm, “Queen Bees!”
The swarm was indeed composed of countless Queen Bees.
Charlot had encountered these peculiar creatures in two places: the Insect Bag and the legendary Queen Bee ship.
Never had he imagined that he would see such bizarre insects on this mysterious island.
A flash of insight struck Charlot, and he suddenly exclaimed, “I understand!”
Andreas couldn’t help but ask, “What do you understand?”
Pointing to the towering tree, Charlot said, “The people of the Sherlock Dynasty used its kin to craft seven ancient magical warships.”
Then, gesturing to the sky, he continued, “And these Queen Bees were also materials for building those ships.”
The Queen Bee ship had roamed the Seven Seas, its legend widely known. Even Andreas, who had never seen it, had heard of the legendary vessel built during the Sherlock Dynasty’s era. Upon Charlot’s reminder, he realized, “Indeed! The Sherlock Dynasty built seven legendary warships, and only such massive trees could have been the material for crafting them.”
When he looked at the Ancient Gomodoro Tree, his expression turned fervent—it symbolized a potential legendary warship!
Legendary warships were far superior to magical alchemical ships. To possess one was to command the Seven Seas. Back in the day, the Golden Ram Herolf had done so with unmatched dominance.
Charlot nodded to himself, thinking, “The Sherlock Dynasty must have felled seven Ancient Gomodoro Trees to craft seven legendary warships. Even the Radiant Holy Kingdom must have been made from such a tree; otherwise, it wouldn’t require branches of the Ancient Gomodoro Tree for repairs.”
The giants of the Blue Sky Tribe seemed utterly terrified of the insect clouds in the sky, their faces filled with fear. Even the female tribal chief shouted loudly, urging her people to hide beneath the Ancient Gomodoro Tree while nervously watching the sky.
Argon asked, “Should we help drive away the insect cloud?”
Argon, the elephantman of the twenty-second rank, wasn’t intimidated by the swarm of insects. Though numerous, the Queen Bees couldn’t withstand the shockwaves radiating from his powerful body.
Gareth was also eager, his hunger for blood and vitality growing stronger after becoming a Blood Butcher. Though usually suppressed by Charlot, this scene stirred his latent cravings.
Charlot shook his head, saying, “There’s no need.”
He took out the Insect Bag, grabbed it with one of his Flame Dragon’s Hands, and ascended into the sky.
The Queen Bees, sensing the aura of the Insect Bag, swarmed toward it. However, the sheer number of insects was overwhelming, and the small Insect Bag couldn’t absorb them all in a short time.
As the swarm circled, the Insect Bag devoured countless Queen Bees. Suddenly, a faint consciousness emerged, and Charlot, with his sharp perception, caught it. Attempting to communicate, he found this consciousness peculiar.
Almost instinctively, Charlot introduced a mathematical model. The consciousness accepted the model and became more orderly. Intrigued, Charlot input basic mathematical concepts, theorems, and computation rules…
The feedback he received was akin to a slow-operating computer system, responding to every command but at a glacial pace.
Charlot was baffled. Why would the Insect Bag generate a consciousness? After some time, he noticed the Insect Bag’s reactions had quickened slightly. A possibility dawned on him, though he struggled to believe it. To test his theory, he began inputting more mathematical knowledge, repeatedly verifying with arithmetic operations.
Soon, he confirmed an astonishing fact: when the Insect Bag absorbed a sufficient number of Queen Bees, it produced a faint consciousness. When their number reached another magnitude, the consciousness could even think. With mathematical knowledge as input, it could offer feedback.
A wild idea surfaced in Charlot’s mind: “Could each Queen Bee function as a computational unit, and when gathered in large enough numbers, their collective computational power births consciousness?”
“Could these tiny creatures function like neurons?”
As Charlot continued inputting various calculations, the Insect Bag’s computational speed increased. Abruptly inspired, he abandoned mathematics in favor of inputting Blood Clan Verbal Spellcasting.
After numerous attempts, hundreds of Queen Bees disintegrated, transforming into a black bat.
Charlot was overjoyed. He finally understood that while a single Queen Bee posed little threat, when their numbers reached hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands, they could link their faint consciousness into a singular entity.
When their numbers swelled further, this entity could wield extraordinary abilities and exhibit various supernatural powers, depending on… how its master trained it.
